Papery Peep – February

25/02/201523/02/2015

February’s papery challenge for #BringBackPaper over at The Reading Residence was a stationery swap – packaging up some papery goodness and swapping with someone else. I loved my gorgeous bundle from Jocelyn at the Reading Residence and have already been putting some of the items to good use sending out some snail mail. Read With… Read More

Jessica making a craft-stick rabbit

Our latest mini creations project has been making different animals using coloured lolly-sticks, coloured card, foam shapes and googly eyes.     Spending time indoors invariably leads to Jessica wanting to do some “making”. Sophie’s afternoon nap is the perfect time to have some one-to-one time with my big girl and do some crafting together.… Read More

Paper plate crafts

04/02/201516/03/2020

Recent craft sessions in the Little Hearts, Big Love household have mostly been centred around paper plates. We usually have a few painted ones lying around having been used as artist’s palettes and ending up looking rather colourful as a result which makes them a good base for another craft project.   Here are three… Read More

Papery Peep – January

28/01/201513/02/2015

Each month, I’ll be sharing what I’ve been reading, writing and creating in the way of papery goodness plus joining in with the challenge for the month. Read Marriage: Illustrated with Crappy Pictures is the latest book… Read More

Sophie’s first painting

27/01/201530/04/2016

After taking a few tips from Jocelyn at the Reading Residence on painting with toddlers, I decided to cover the table with lining paper, line Sophie’s high chair with a bin bag and have a painting session at the table with both my beautiful girls. Apart from one time of painting Sophie’s hand to get… Read More

A few firsts for Sophie

14/01/201530/04/2016

Whilst Jessica loves drawing, so far Sophie’s only use for crayons has tended to be something to chew on (until Mummy is a spoilsport and takes them away). It was therefore a lovely surprise to see her sitting down at the craft table at one of the toddler groups this week happily holding a crayon… Read More

Making a snowman using soap

Jessica with her soapy "snowman"

One of the tags for #SnapHappyBritMums this month was frost/ice/snow. With no sign of any of these, it inspired me to have some messy play time with Jessica and make some ‘snow’ out of soap so that she could build a snowman.     I heated a bar of soap in the microwave for 2… Read More
