Yesterday was exactly six years on from the day we were told Jessica’s heart condition was so severe that it was unlikely post-birth surgery would be an option. Back then, we thought that she would live for only a few hours at best. Yesterday, we watched our little miracle taking part in the Girls’ Brigade Explorers Sports Day. She usually trails way behind her peers but she amazed us in the obstacle race. Not only was she not last, but she actually finished in third place and at one point, she was leading the race. Not bad for a little girl with only half a working heart!
Your daughter is such an inspiration. She is so beautiful x
Thank you Vicky, she is my little miracle x

Hi Louise, Jessica looks so chuffed and I doubt that she has any idea that every achievement she accomplishes is a little more precious because every day with her is a gift.
xx
Thanks Debbie. She was very pleased with herself – and no I don’t think she has any idea of just how precious those little achievements are but in many ways, that’s a good thing x

Louise,
Jessica taking part in the obstacle-race is quite metaphorical — and when she does so well in the obstacle-race, it’s even more metaphorical!
