May has certainly been quite an eventful month. We’ve had all the excitement of the King’s coronation and the various events happening locally as part of that which was followed by my birthday. Sophie has had a dance festival and a successful audition for the Wizard of Oz. Thomas has had a very good month at school – what a difference a change of teacher has made for him. There’s been the emotional rollercoaster that comes with significant anniversaries for Jessica – 12 years on from the day we first found out about her heart, and 5 years on from her funeral. And then to top it all, my husband fell and injured his knee at work. Thankfully it’s gradually healing and he’s able to get about a little more now.
The half-term break has come as a bit of a relief. It’s been nice just to get out and focus on having fun with Sophie and Thomas and to forget the to-do list for a while. This month has been quite a busy one and I’ve felt quite overwhelmed with things at times. It’s been good to switch off from some of that over the last few days.
As is often the case, this month’s photos are a selection of last-minute quick snaps taken out in the garden and the only one where we’re all looking at the camera is the one where we’re pulling silly faces. That’s family life for you though – a life where things don’t always go quite as planned, but there’s love and laughter and silly moments, and we get through the ups and downs together.
It sounds like you have had a busy month with lots of ups and downs.
What a lovely photos of you all. They did make me smile. x
