The Friday Focus 27/03/15

The coughs and colds might continue to linger, but with my big girl performing in her first ever preschool concert this week and both my girlies receiving signing certificates at their Tiny Talk class, my overall word for this week has to be proud.

The Friday Focus 27/03/15 - Little Hearts, Big Love

I am so proud of Jessica for having settled in to preschool so well and being able to watch her taking part in the Easter concert and enjoying being with the other children on her last day of the spring term was such a joy. The next day saw another proud mummy moment when Jessica received her certificate from our toddler signing class for being able to do more than 75 signs and Sophie got hers for being able to do more than 25. It was also a lovely surprise to receive a bunch of flowers from the Tiny Talk teacher as a thank you for helping make tea and coffee at the end of the class each week. Just a couple of the little moments that have made me a happy mummy this week.

Out and About:
We went to the Little Hearts Matter open day in Birmingham on Saturday and got to meet some other heart families which is always lovely. Jessica and Sophie enjoyed playing with the other children in the crèche while we attended the talks which were very interesting and informative and have given me quite a lot to think about with regards to Jessica’s next surgery and how to support her when she starts infant school. We also got to have a fun family photo taken.

The following day saw us heading down to the New Forest for our friends’ twins’ naming day. It was lovely to see our friends and meet their twin boys for the first time and Jessica and Sophie both enjoyed the craft table and helping make something for their memory boxes.

Fun at home:
Most of our time at home this week has involved lots of snuggles on the sofa whilst watching CBeebies together thanks to still being a little under the weather. We have also been reading lots of stories and it is lovely to see how much Sophie loves books – she is very much like Jessica was at her age and will turn the pages of the (usually upside-down) book whilst babbling away. Beautiful moments.

Time for me:
Not a lot of time for me this week as hubby has been away working again and the children have been a little more unsettled at bedtime.

On the blog:
I was very chuffed to see that I’ve moved up again in the Tots100 charts and am now at 194. A huge thank you to everyone who reads my blog for helping me get there.

My happiest moment:
Snuggling up in my bed with my girlies and reading stories together.

Next week I would like to:
Celebrate with some lovely friends at their wedding in Scotland and try and find some more of the golden postboxes on our journey up there.
