Siblings – June 2022

Sophie and Thomas snuggled up together under a blanket with photos of Jessica on

I love watching Sophie and Thomas playing together. Thomas has nicknames for everyone at the moment – he’s ‘Woof’, Sophie is ‘Meow’, Jessica is ‘Squeak’, Daddy is ‘Moo’ and I am ‘Ribbit’. It’s adorable watching him snuggle up to Sophie and saying, “I love you, Meow” and hearing her respond, “I love you too, Woof”.… Read More

Siblings – May 2022

Sophie and Thomas sitting on the grass in front of a wildflower patch with Sophie holding a photo of Jessica

It dawned on me the other day that Thomas is now at the age that Sophie was during that last summer with Jessica. When I think of my girls together, the memories of that last summer are usually the first that spring to mind – the way they’d play together and have fun outside together.… Read More

Siblings – April 2022

Sophie and Thomas with the wooden sculpture of Jessica at Jessica's forever bed

The Easter holidays are almost over, most of the chocolate has been eaten and term-time beckons once more. It’s interesting how different Sophie and Thomas are when it comes to Easter chocolate. Thomas has eaten almost all of his now (along with some extra Easter eggs belonging to others that were left in reach). He’s… Read More

Siblings – March 2022

Sophie and Thomas sitting on the sofa with an image of Jessica from her photo blanket draped on the sofa behind them. There is a cushion that says 'Sophie' next to Sophie and another one that says 'Jessica' on the opposite side, next to the photo of Jessica

The news in recent weeks has been another reminder of how very precious the ordinary everyday moments of family life are. I’ve certainly been holding Sophie and Thomas a little bit tighter and doing my best to treasure the moments we have together. Admittedly not all moments are ones to be treasured and my patience… Read More

Siblings – February 2022

17/02/2022
Sophie and Thomas sitting on a bench on the pier at Torquay with boats on the water behind them and them both holding a photo of Jessica

Our February siblings photos were taken on our recent weekend in Torquay. We were there for the Land’s End – John O’Groats Association annual dinner and awards evening. It was a weekend that brought back a lot of memories of our two end-to-end journeys and our previous trips to Torquay. We only went there once… Read More

Siblings – January 2022

Thomas and Sophie sitting on a red sofa with a 'Jessica' cushion one side and a 'Sophie' cushion the other, and Jessica's picture on her photo blanket in between them

One of our new things for this year is our morning ‘snuggle time’. We start every morning with five minutes (longer at the weekend!) of sitting together on the sofa, snuggled up under the ‘Jessica blanket’ and enjoying a cuddle together. It’s a lovely way to start the day and I love that the photo… Read More

Siblings – December 2021

Jessica standing next to a snowman with Sophie standing behind Thomas (dressed as a snowman) against a snowy backdrop

One of our Christmas traditions is to create a festive photo of the children together. I enjoyed coming with different ideas for festive scenes, particularly once I started getting to grips with Photoshop and playing around with backgrounds. I’m thankful that Photoshop gives me a way of creating photos of the three of my children… Read More
