Review – My Holibob Bear

At weekends and school holidays, one of the first questions my girls ask in the morning is “what are we doing today?” My Holibob Bear is a fun way of answering that question whilst helping to document those activities too. The girls were sent a My Holibob Bear Deluxe each just before the start of the Easter holidays. It’s been brilliant for helping them find out what each day’s activity is and adding a little more fun to the holidays.

My Holibob Bear is suitable for children over 3. It comes with a suitcase, activity cards, summary cards, a “Pawsport” and stickers. The Deluxe version also includes a mini chalk board and chalk and a journal.

There are seven different activity cards covering a range of different activities – including Going Places, Creative Play and Your Choice. Each of the activity cards has matching stickers. These can be stuck inside the bear’s “Pawsport” at the end of the day.

The girls have enjoyed finding out what our plans were for the Easter holidays through “asking the bears” and then seeing what was inside the suitcase. The website has some good ideas for reveals and I’ve enjoyed being creative with ours. We’ve used some cards more than others though. Our favourite has been the Going Places card, closely followed by Creative Play.

Both the girls now recognise the different cards. As soon as they spot the card, they have an idea of the day’s activities will be. The mini chalkboard is useful though for giving more specific details about the planned activity.

The bears are very soft and snuggly and make the perfect companions for our adventures too! Sitting down together at the end of the day to add a sticker to the “Pawsport” is a lovely way to remember the day’s activities too.

Our Easter holidays have now come to an end but I’m looking forward to using the bears again in half-term and the summer holidays. I’ve had fun thinking of different ways to reveal activities with the bears’ help. My girls have really enjoyed finding out about our plans through asking their bears too.
