#withkindnessandlove 14 – stories of kindness and sharing some blog love

#withkindnessandlove is a weekly series which is part of my #365daysofkindness project which I am taking on during this year. Each week, I will be sharing some stories of kindness along with some things that have made me smile during the week.  Some weeks I might share a quote that has inspired me, or some suggestions for small acts of kindness that I have come across. Here are this week’s little moments of kindness and little things I have loved.

Little moments of kindness

Last weekend, we received a beautiful handmade quilt and cushion in the post from my very talented friend Gillian. The card that came with it was equally beautiful. It’s clear that a lot of love has gone into making that quilt. I was so touched that Gillian thought of us when she was making it. It is one of the nicest presents I have ever received and looks so pretty on my sofa. It makes me feel happy just to look at it. Thank you so much Gillian for such a lovely gift.

Katie from The Squirmy Popple found that a kind word from a stranger when you’re struggling with an unruly toddler can go a long way. I love her blog post reflecting on the way three little words spoken by a stranger in the Musée Picasso helped to encourage her.

“When I was starting out on my exclusively expressing breastfeeding journey and having a really hard time, the lovely lycrawidow sent me a couple of her much-loved wrap dresses, an expressing top and a poem of encouragement. I think it was the kindest thing a stranger has ever done for me!” (Jules – Pondering Parenthood)

Sharing some blog love

A blog post that I loved

Listening to my girls playing happily together or laughing together always makes me feel happy too. Le Coin de Mel shared a beautiful post reflecting on what happy sounds like to her. I couldn’t help but feel happy reading through her list. What does happy sound like to you?

If you have any stories about being on the receiving end of an act of kindness that you’d like me to include in a future blog post, please feel free to email them to me at louise @ littleheartsbiglove.co.uk or fill in the form here.
