It was a nice surprise this month to find that our Book Buddy parcel from Parragon Books contained items that were more for me than the girls – two Disney-themed colouring books plus an extra Easter craft to make, that looked a little too tricky for little hands.
The Disney Princess and Frozen Art Therapy Colouring Books are beautiful looking books filled with pages and pages of patterns and designs inspired by Disney princesses or Frozen characters. The Frozen colouring book is full of snowflake patterns, with outlines of Elsa, Anne, Olaf and Sven included on several pages whereas the other book features a range of different Disney princesses – including Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel and Belle – and patterns inspired by each of the different princesses stories.
It’s been a long time since I’ve done any colouring like this – I remember having a big poster with intricate patterns to colour in when I was about ten (I never did finish it!) but I’ve done very little since then. I love the fact that there are a range of patterns in the book – some much more intricate and time-consuming than others. I’m not sure I have the patience to persevere with some of the more complicate ones but I did enjoy colouring in some of the simpler designs and can see how addictive it could be!
The March book buddy pack also included an Easter bunny craft taken from Parragon’s ‘Make it by the Book’ craft book. The kit included everything needed to make the bunny (other than glue and scissors) – corrugated card, tracing paper, patterned paper and a template and instructions for making the bunny.
I was quite glad I’d decided to wait until the girls were asleep before trying to make the bunny – as it was a bit fiddly to trace the template, cut out the shapes and fit them together. I’m quite pleased with the finished result though!
Disclaimer: I was sent a copy of the books and craft kit to review through being part of Parragon Books’ Book Buddies. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I’m fascinated by the new colouring craze, they ones you’ve filled in look very pretty. #TriedTested
It’s not something I’ve really got into but it is quite satisfying to see the page transformed by colouring it in 🙂
I love colouring in, I really like the look of these ones I am currently working my way through the Harry Potter colouring book – I find it so relaxing
Love the sound of the Harry Potter colouring book 🙂
These look great. I have been meaning to get myself some colouring books, as I think they will help me switch off and relax in the evenings. x
They are a great way to relax 🙂
My daughter would love the Frozen colouring book. I have an adult colouring book and I find colouring really relaxing (although the book only comes out when I’m on a train or a plane!).

It is really relaxing isn’t it? 🙂
The frozen book sounds gorgeous and perfect for us as we are heading for Winter. My daughter would love this.
It’s a lovely book and a great activity for those long winter evenings 🙂
Love the look of those colouring books, I really must give this adult colouring thing a go! Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested
I quite enjoyed doing them. Thanks for hosting #TriedTested 🙂
I love those colouring books! Like you, I don’t have the patience for more complicated designs, but I do like the look of these x
Thanks Jocelyn – I’ve done a little more on them since then and can definitely see how addictive it can be!
