Me and Mine (December)

Christmas is all about spending time together as a family. Time to turn the phones off, forget about social media and work and just enjoy time with each other. Getting down on the floor with the girls and playing with the new toys (sometimes I wonder if Daddy has more fun with them than the children do!), snuggling on the sofa together to watch The Gruffalo. Visits to Nanny, seeing aunties, uncles, cousins. Just quality time together. Me and Mine (December) - Little Hearts, Big LoveDecember is the one time of year when hubby really can take time off work. No stopping to catch up on emails a couple of times during the day, as he often does when we are on holiday together – just being able to focus on being a family. And perhaps getting some of those jobs done around the house that we never quite manage to do at any other time! This is the time of year when I feel that we really do work well as a team – somehow despite all the stress and the pre-Christmas rush, we are often at our best with each other because this is when we truly make the time for us as a family. What a huge difference that little bit of focused time makes.

This month’s photos are from our trip to visit family just after Christmas. The four of us enjoying being together as a family. For me, that’s when the magic of Christmas really does come alive.

  1. I love December too as my husband always seems to get a good chunk of time off so January is going to hit hard 🙁
Hope you had a good Xmas and have a lovely New Years x

    1. It is lovely to get that time together, isn’t it. Wishing you all the best for 2015 x

  2. Great photos, love the girls are wearing the same thing. I totally agree that Christmas is about family, and I admit it has been nice keeping away from social media for a bit. Even if I did take the time to change my blog about a bit ;0)

    1. Thank you – I love their matching dresses too! I have enjoyed having more of a break from social media as well and I love your new blog design 🙂

  3. How lovely to have real relaxed family time together – you all look so happy cuddled up – and yes, I suspect Daddies have as much fun with the new toys too!
