Me and You – June 2014

I took a happy snap of hubby and myself when we were in the south of France earlier this month:

A selfie of me and hubby on holiday in France

It’s been a very, very long time since we last did this. Hubby’s login screen on his tablet features another happy snap of us in France which was one of his favourite photos. It was taken ten years ago – which shocked me slightly when I realised. It really doesn’t feel that long ago!

I’m not sure that there have been any photos of just the two of us since Jessica was born. This may well be the first photo of just us since we became parents. It’s made me look back a little at those days when it was just the two of us and remind myself of the many things I love about my husband, many of which perhaps I take a little for granted now as I get lost in the hecticness that is everyday family life with two small children. I wouldn’t change it for the world – but it is good to stop and take a moment to remember all those things that brought hubby and me together in the first place.

  1. That is what is lovely about this link up, it gets you to think about taking photos of you both together. I don’t ever want to look back and for there not to be many photos of us together.

    1. It’s definitely made me focus again on what makes us tick as a couple. Even if we only manage one photo of just us a month as a result, it is nice to have some couple photos in amongst all the hundreds of photos of our children.

  2. What a lovely post. I agree, it’s so important to take time to remember all the things you love about your partner, especially in the craziness of parenthood!

    1. Thank you – definitely good to take a moment every so often to just focus on being a couple

  3. This is lovely, and it is so very important to remember why you got together in the first place but saying it is easy. When you’re knee deep in day to day madness of kids, gym runs etc doing it is much harder. I like that you’re really made the effort. You’ve prompted me to do the same this evening xx
