Making Sock Puppets

One of the recent CBeebies magazines contained a Mr Tumble sock puppet craft kit. This proved to be very useful in providing Jessica with some distraction during the ferry journey on our recent holiday to France.

The kit contained two small stripey socks, some googly eyes, Tumble family stickers, some self-adhesive foam stickers in various shapes, two foam spotty bow ties and red and blue crayons.

Jessica decided that she wanted to put all four eyes on to one puppet and use the foam stickers on the other. Removing the backing on the larger stickers was manageable with her little fingers. She did need a bit of help with the smaller ones though.

We made two puppets in about half an hour or so. Jessica thoroughly enjoyed making them and playing with them afterwards.

  1. Fab puppets, they look fun and bright. What a great way to entertain a child on a journey like that.
