December has been all about spending time together as a family. Not just the four of us – but about catching up with extended family – hubby’s parents, my mum, all my brothers and sisters. It’s been a month full of activity – Christmas parties, days out, getting ready for Christmas Day itself. It’s been stressful at times, but it’s been mostly all about fun, laughter and togetherness.
Being able to be together and home for Christmas is something I never take for granted. I know how lucky we are just to be together, to be able to enjoy the little moments, to see the excitement on our children’s faces when they see “snowy” footprints on the carpet and hear the squeals of delight as they open presents. To see the magic of Christmas through my children’s eyes gives me so much joy. Christmas is all about family, about being together, about making memories.
This month’s photos show us in front of the tree at church after the Christmas morning service. Enjoying being together and feeling thankful for another Christmas at home, another Christmas spent together. My only wish for 2016 is that next Christmas will show a similar scene, just with my two girls a little bigger than they are now. Because as long as we are all together, I have all that I want.
One of the things that I love about the Me and Mine linky is how it has encouraged me to take a family photo each month. They may not be the best photos in the world, but they capture the four of us together and provide a lovely series of pictures to look back over – showing how our family has changed over the year. Ordinary moments at home, fun days out having adventures or a briefly-snatched moment of togetherness during busy times – each photo tells a story of its own and brings back a memory. I hope we’ll get to make many more happy ones in 2016.

Oh what a gorgeous Christmassy photo and your church has a lovely tree (and great light for pictures!!). And you’ve got it nailed, at the end of the day, Me and Mine is all that truly matters 🙂
Thank you Carie – family is definitely the most important thing 🙂
I’m praying for the same as you Louise…that the same people are in the photo’s throughout 2016.
Sophie has changed so much this year, she’s grown up to being a proper little girl now hasn’t she.
Hope the 4 of you had a great time celebrating New Year. xxx #meandmine
It’s every parent’s wish really, but it’s one that being a heart parent makes you more acutely aware of. Sophie has really grown up – she was such a tiny tot this time last year and now, as you say, she’s a proper little girl. We stayed in for New Year but it was lovely just being at home – hope you had a good New Year too and let’s hope both our prayers are answered this year x
