I think we all love to daydream sometimes about what our ideal life would look like and where we could be, what we could be doing if money were no object and we had a friendly genie on hand to grant us a few wishes. Being tagged recently by Jocelyn at The Reading Residence in her If I could… post made me think a little about those daydreams and what my responses might be to that genie. I’ve no doubt that like others who get what they wished for in fairytales, the reality would not quite live up to the daydream but that’s the beauty of dreams – they can be exactly what we what them to be.
If I could live anywhere…
I would live in a little villa in the south of France. Summer days eating meals on the terrace, freshly baked French bread, cheese, pate and rillettes… wouldn’t that be nice!
If I could have any home…
Something a little bigger than I have now – not too big though. Just enough room for the children to have a playroom and a big country kitchen with lots of cupboards, worktop space and a huge table in the middle where we could all sit and eat, or the children could sit and do crafts while I cooked dinner.
If I could have any garden…
There would be a big lawn with plenty of space for the children to play, a little rose garden for me and perhaps a vegetable patch and some fruit trees. It would need to come with a gardener though as my gardening skills are non-existent!
If I could be on holiday right now…
I’d love to spend a few days in Salzburg and go on the Sound of Music tour. My children are still young enough that I wouldn’t embarrass them by singing the songs along the way. Hubby, however, would probably want to pretend he wasn’t with me…!
If I could have any job…
I’ve always dreamed of being a writer and publishing my first book. Maybe one day I’ll make that dream come true!
If I could have any talent…
I would love to be able to dance really well. I used to do a lot of dancing in my university and pre-children days including ballroom, acrobatic rock n roll, tap and ballet but I never managed to be anywhere near as good as I dreamed of being!
If I could live any day again…
My wedding day is the first that springs to mind as it really was such a perfect day from start to finish.
If I could have any superpower…
I would have the ability to heal so I could completely fix Jessica’s heart.
And of all these dreams, if I could only choose one, it would be the last one. Sadly whilst that particular daydream will always remain just that, I am forever grateful to the power of modern medicine for being able to make Jessica’s heart work as well as possible, even if it cannot be truly fixed.
Thank you Jocelyn for tagging me. I wonder if the following bloggers might like to share a few of their daydreams too and join in too?

Lovely daydreams! Every garden should have a rose garden, I totally support that! I love the Sound of Music, too – I’d come and happily sing every word with you. And yes, what a superpower that would be, glad modern medicine is doing the job well now xx
Thank you – glad I’m not alone in loving The Sound of Music 🙂
such a lovely post, i’d love a rose garden and vegetable patch also
Thank you – love the idea of both but preferably without the effort needed on my part! 🙂
This post really made me smile, lovely day dreams. My husband took me to the sing-along Sound of Music when we were first dating 🙂 And, that would be a wonderful super power x
Thanks Sara – we’ve been to the sing-along Sound of Music too, it was so much fun! 🙂
