Heart to Heart linky was set up to help other heart families share their stories and experiences in order to help support each other as a community. It opens on the 15th of each month and stays open for a week so there is plenty of time to share your CHD-related posts. You can share as many posts as you like – old posts or new posts, updates on how your heart child is progressing, poems, advice – whatever you like as long as it is related to life as a heart family. If you would like to add the code below to your post that would be great and please do visit other posts in the link too! I’ll also try and share posts on Twitter – and will try and retweet those with the hashtag #hearttoheartlinky
We had our final appointment with Jessica’s wonderful cardiac consultant this month and felt very sad to be saying goodbye to him. He has been there from the very start of our journey as a heart family and was a key part of the team who performed Jessica’s in-utero surgery and we are incredibly thankful for all that he has done for her. Taking the next steps on her journey with a new consultant (and later on a new surgeon too) is quite a daunting prospect and I linked up my thoughts about this change last month. This month I am linking up a guest post from Aimee at Mum Amie which shares the story of her heart angel Grace and raises awareness of the importance of early detection. I am also linking up a post from Jessica’s blog with an update from her latest cardiac check-up.
Thank you to everyone who linked up last month. Northumberland Mam shared an update from her daughters’ cardiac check-ups and her thoughts on having a new consultant and Heart Mummy celebrated her heart warrior’s 2nd birthday. We also had a new blogger join the Heart to Heart community – Beth in a Box shared a couple of posts about her daughter Rainbow’s CHD diagnosis and follow-up cardiac appointment.
Thank you to everyone who kept Gemma from Heart Mammi and her daughter Martha Grace in their prayers last month. Martha had her surgery on 15th October and was back home again less than a week later – well done Martha!
I have added posts previously linked up to Heart to Heart on my Pinterest board as well as sharing other CHD-related posts. If you would like an invite to pin to it, please do let me know. Looking forward to reading your heart-related posts this month

Thank you so much for hosting #heartohearlinky! I’ve found the best support has come from other Heart Mummies.
I’m finding the whole journey a little daunting at the moment but there is a kind of end in sight for us… at least as far as the current symptoms go.

It is very daunting when you know that surgery is imminent – will be thinking of you and Rainbow over the coming weeks. Being able to share these things with other families who have been through similar journeys can make sure a difference – it really helped us when Jessica had her surgeries and hope that it will help you through this time too x
Thanks for your continued support, it means so much and only parents who’ve been through something similar can understand what you’re going through isn’t it. xxx
You’re very welcome Gemma – so glad that Martha is continuing to recover well x
Thank you very much for sharing my post. What an amazing linky, it offers so much support for heart families xx
My pleasure Aimee, thank you so much for sharing beautiful Grace’s story and for helping to raise awareness of CHD xx
