Friday Focus 29/11/2024 – Walk

I’ve had a quieter week work-wise so have been making the most of it by getting out for a walk a few times this week. I’ve been joining in with a walking group on Monday mornings since the start of the year, but this week I thought I’d try some of the other walks that are available in the local area. There are quite a few organised walks available to join in with throughout the week. Some of them are short, leisurely walks and others are a bit more challenging. This week I’ve joined in with two of the other walks – one short one and one longer one. It’s been really nice meeting new people and getting out and about in the fresh air.

What I’ve been grateful for this week:

Pink and white roses at Jessica's forever bed; Thomas and Sophie seeing Father Christmas at Legoland; Thomas snuggled up under a quilt; trees with fallen autumn leaves; a blue sky above trees; Thomas looking at the Christmas tree in town; a bouquet of lilies, brassicas and berries - "#366daysofgratitude 2024 - Week 48"

  • Day 327 – I am grateful for beautiful flowers for my beautiful Jessica.

  • Day 328 – I am grateful for a fun festive day out at Legoland.

  • Day 329 – I am grateful for warm quilts to snuggle under at bedtime.

  • Day 330 – I am grateful for getting out for a nice walk on a sunny autumn morning.

  • Day 331 – I am grateful for blue skies and sunshine and another lovely walk on a beautiful autumn day.

  • Day 332 – I am grateful for Thomas’s excitement at spotting the big Christmas tree in town.

  • Day 333 – I am grateful for unexpectedly receiving some lovely flowers.

Other things that have made me smile this week:

  • Having an evening out with am-dram friends.

  • This photo of Sophie being ‘eaten’ by the Lego shark at Legoland and Thomas trying to reach up to her.

Sophie's legs sticking out of a Lego shark's mouth with Thomas reaching up to her

  • Watching Thomas in his swimming lesson and seeing how his swimming teacher works with his strengths and comes up with ways to engage him in the lesson.

  • Getting to watch Sophie’s ballet class.

  1. Getting out for a walk sounds fantastic and the walking groups sound great too!
Lovely photos! I think I need to get some cosy quilts to snuggle under at bedtime and Sophie looks so professional at ballet. x

    1. Cosy quilts are great at this time of year. We’re lucky to have friends who have gifted us handmade quilts.

  2. Nice to get out for social walks. We’re big blanket people here, although N will often bring his duvet down as well. Glad Thomas’ swimming is goign well

  3. The walking groups sound like a good way to discover new local routes and of course great exercise for your body and mind too. The photo of Sophie, the shark and Thomas made me giggle, I hope he wasn’t too concerned about her. The flowers for Jessica are beautiful, such lovely colours.

    1. It is lovely to get out for walks – I’m enjoying discovering new places and meeting new people.

  4. Walks … I feel so bad for not being able to do this, lol. I avoid the cold at all cost and so I pay for it with weight gain at this time of the year. Walking with a group sounds so lovely though. I would love to try that one day. All the best for a great week ahead.

    1. I don’t mind the cold which makes it easier to get out. I can understand not getting out when you find the cold difficult to deal with. Hope you both are doing ok x

    1. It’s lovely – I like going out for walks on my own but it’s nicer to walk with a group of people.

  5. Walking groups sound really great. I knew about the running ones and I don’t like running, but walking is something I would be happy to do. I should have a look to see if I can find something similar close to me.
    The flowers are beautiful.

    1. I think there are lots of groups in different areas so hopefully you can find something local to you.

  6. I’ve really been enjoying my walks with Bailey, I shall have to continue on my own when she goes home in a couple of weeks, but easier said than done I know, I’ll have to look into some local groups. Lovely flowers for both you and Jessica.

    1. I’m glad you’ve been enjoying your walks with Bailey – you’ll miss her when she goes home x
