We’ve been busy with rehearsals this week. Show week for The Wind in the Willows is now just four weeks away, and we’ve had the first of the all-day Sunday rehearsals where the show really starts to come together as well as the usual rehearsals on two evenings in the week.
I’ve enjoyed rehearsing in costume this week and really losing myself in the show and my character as Mole. The escapism that comes with acting is one of the things I love about it – especially when things get stressful, as they have been at times this week.
Both Sophie and I have also had other rehearsals this week. Sophie has started rehearsals for the panto and I’ve been rehearsing for a concert that I’m performing in on Sunday.
Thomas has had a bit of a bumpy week at school and has been struggling with the classroom environment (and the upset of Nanny having to go home again on Monday). We’ve had some frustrating moments over communication with the school regarding behaviour issues and support, but I’m hoping that things are going to improve as he’s being moved back into the SEN classroom which he’s previously been happier with.
What I’ve been grateful for this week:
- Day 271 – I am grateful for matching pyjamas.
- Day 272 – I am grateful for a lovely afternoon having fun bowling and celebrating a friend’s birthday.
- Day 273 – I am grateful for beautiful sunrises.
- Day 274 – I am grateful that my husband is back home again.
- Day 275 – I am grateful for calm moments.
- Day 276 – I am grateful for a rare opportunity to go to the pub and socialise after rehearsal.
- Day 277 – I am grateful for lovely long chats with my mum over the phone.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Sophie getting a ‘Brainiac’ award at school.
It would be so nice to see one of the shows that you are rehearsing for! Sounds like fun. Do they share things on YouTube? I hope they rehearsal as well as the real shows go really well.
Good luck with The Wind in the Willows. It sounds like a lot of work which will totally be worth it. You and Sophie have been busy.
So sorry things haven’t been great for Thomas. I hope things are better now that he’s moving back to the SEN classroom.
I love the matching pyjamas and that’s great that your husband is back home. x
Those matching pjs look good enough to wear out as leggings, I would. Lovely to have your hubby home, but I bet you miss mum as much as Thomas does. Hope things improve for Thomas back in the SEN classroom.
I used to love the Wind in the Willows as a child, don’t think I have ever seen it on stage. Cannot wait to see your costume
rehearsing sounds like hard work but good for getting you mind off things. I hope Thomas settles at school and is happier soon.
So busy with all the shows. Sounds like rehearsals are going well. Hopefully Thomas is able to settle back in again soon. I used to love the after dancing socialising in Oxford. Shame there’s no dancing there anymore.
