Reading books and Frozen – two things that my girls love. We’ve introduced a few other Disney films to the mix but Frozen has certainly remained the firm favourite (with Toy Story being a close contender for the top spot at times). When I found out that this month’s Book Buddies books from Parragon Books were Frozen and Jungle Book, I knew that I would have two very happy little girls on my hands – and I wasn’t wrong!
The two hardback books are beautifully illustrated with full page illustrations. At 72 pages long, they were a little on the long side for two-year-old Sophie. Frozen held her attention fairly well being a very well-known and loved story. She was less interested in Jungle Book. Admittedly, neither of the girls have seen the film. I suspect the book will be more of interest once they have done. For four-year-old Jessica though, the books were just about the right length and held her attention throughout. Frozen has now become the firm favourite for her bedtime story!
Whilst the stories were too long to hold Sophie’s attention, she and Jessica have both enjoyed sitting down and looking at the pictures in the books. Both the girls have also enjoyed “reading” the stories to their toys which is lovely to watch. I also received a couple of colouring pages with the two books which the girls enjoyed colouring in.
Parragon Books have teamed up with Disney for Disney Book Week, which runs from 23rd May – 12th June 2016. The two books we received – Frozen and Jungle Books – are part of the Disney Movie Collection, This collection features twenty different Disney titles including favourites such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story and Monsters Inc.
