#365daysofgratitude – Week 39

For the last two years, I have taken part in a daily gratitude challenge – sharing one photo a day on Instagram of something I am grateful for. It’s taught me to look for the little things and has made me a more positive person. It has not always been easy to find something to be grateful for each day though, especially since losing my beautiful daughter Jessica in April. Jessica’s zest for life, her strength and the joy that she gave to all who knew her have always inspired me. I continue with this challenge every day in honour of her.

Day 266 – I am grateful that when asked today at church what her favourite thing in the world was, Sophie replied with “my baby brother.”

Day 267 – I am grateful that I managed to get some reasonable shots to play with for this year’s Christmas photo. Took several attempts (mostly because Thomas wasn’t too keen on lying in a basket of hay, can’t think why?!) but we got there in the end. Wanted to do the photo while Thomas is still small enough to be baby Jesus – plus it gives me plenty of time to play around with editing it!

Day 268 – I am grateful to have hubby home again.

Day 269 – I am grateful that all was well with Thomas’s hip scan and that we were in and out of the hospital in less than 10 minutes. We’d arrived early as well so were in the car heading home by the time our appointment was booked for!

Day 270 – I am grateful for the times when Thomas is happy to be in his swing or on his playmat and I can get on with a few jobs. Loving these big grins now!

Day 271 – I am grateful that Thomas was awake for some of today’s Tiny Talk session and seemed to enjoy it judging from the big smiles.

Day 272 – I am grateful for a productive afternoon in the garden. Thomas enjoyed sitting outside in the swing, Sophie collected flowers and hunted for bugs, hubby mowed the grass and I managed to weed Jessica’s garden for the first time in about three months.
