Word of the Week 27/06/14 – Outings

This week, we’ve been making the most of the sunshine and enjoying a few outings.

Outings - this week's word of the week

Last Saturday, we had a fabulous day out at Peppa Pig world with some of the other heart families from the ward where Jessica was cared for following her heart surgery. Each year, the park gives some free tickets to the heart children. It is lovely to see them all enjoying the day out and getting together and chatting to other heart parents. There were a couple of children there who we last saw as small babies when they and Jessica were on the ward together and it was wonderful to see them growing up and doing so well.

Then the next day, we were off to see In The Night Garden Live at Richmond. This is the second year we have been. Jessica enjoyed it so much last year that we’d thought we’d take her again. She loved seeing all her favourite characters on stage and getting to meet Upsy Daisy and Igglepiggle afterwards. Sophie too was quite transfixed by what was happening on stage in front of her. She was quite happy watching for quite a while until she decided that she was more interested in feeding than Igglepiggle and co.

On Wednesday, we had a day out at Legoland with Grandma. One of Mummy’s birthday presents this year was an annual pass. We have been trying to take advantage of being able to go regularly (particularly while Jessica is still young enough to get free entry). Jessica enjoyed chatting to some other children whilst watching the pirate show and went on a few rides with Grandma.

In between, we have been enjoying the nice weather by getting out in the garden and having tea parties with the toys. Being able to get out and about in the sunshine is definitely my favourite thing about the summer. The children are so much happier for being able to play outside too.

  1. What a brilliant week! My daughter loved Peppa Pig World & LegoLand when she visited, though they’re a long way from us. We do go to Thomasland regularly, though, so she is appeased! Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  2. What a nice week! So many outings which you all deserve. Thanks for sharing. My son’s dream destination is Peppa Pig World. Too far and expensive for us tho. #wotw

    1. Thank you – it has been a very lovely week – we have definitely been making the most of the nice weather 🙂
