Review – Fantastic Services oven cleaning

I have to confess that oven cleaning is one of those jobs that I constantly put off doing.  I’ll wash the grill pan, wipe the hob over and give the front of the oven a quick clean, but cleaning the oven properly – well, it just doesn’t happen as often as it should.  The trouble was, that I’d been putting it off so long that my oven really was quite disgusting. I knew I really needed to just grit my teeth and get on with it.  Thankfully, that moment happened to coincide with an email from Fantastic Services inviting me to review one of their services, which included oven cleaning.  The opportunity to have someone else do my least-favourite chore for me was not one I was about to turn down.

 

 

The man who came to clean my oven certainly did a very thorough job – spending around three hours to turn it from scummy to sparkling. The oven was dismantled with the racks, panels, knobs, fan and extraction filter all being removed and placed into a tank where they were left to soak while the inside of the oven itself was cleaned manually.  It took a lot of scrubbing to get my oven looking like new! Once the oven was clean, all the parts that had been in soak were cleaned and put back before the hob. Finally, the outside of the oven was cleaned and polished.

 

I am somewhat embarrassed to show you the before photos. As you can see from them, I’d been putting off cleaning the oven for a very long time! However, I am consoling myself with the fact that it did make for a very thorough test of the service. The transformation was quite amazing!  It is like having a brand new oven.

 

 

Would I use Fantastic Services again? Absolutely! They lived up to their name and did an amazing job of cleaning my oven. The price of their oven cleaning service is in line with other oven cleaning services I have looked at.  They also provide a huge range of other services. Not just cleaning, but gardening, handyman services, building work, removals, pest control and pet care.  Well worth a look if you need any of these services.

 

There’s only one drawback.  The oven is so amazingly clean that we’re reluctant to use it and make it dirty again!
