From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!
A big thank you to everyone who linked up last week. I loved Rainbows Are Too Beautiful’s bedtime “view” – such a beautiful moment – and One Man and His Sprog made me chuckle with Tilly’s phonic song.
Last week saw the final week of preschool for my big girl, which was a very emotional week for me (although in true Jessica fashion, she took it all in her stride and sees the next step on her school journey as a big adventure). I’d just put away the last of her preschool pieces of art into her artwork folder (shedding a few tears whilst doing so) and Jessica noticed me looking sad.
“Why were you crying Mummy? Did you hurt your knee? I’ll go and put a plaster on it for you.”
Bless her little heart, trying to make it all better!
We’ve been talking about Jessica starting big school in September and then Sophie will start at preschool in January. As Jessica left her preschool for the last time after her leavers’ party, she turned around and said:
“Bye, bye preschool! Sophie will be going to preschool soon and when Sophie finishes, then nobody will be going to preschool and preschool will close!”
We did explain that there will be other children going to preschool so it won’t be closing when Sophie finishes!
If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. The linky opens each Monday from 6am and closes on Friday at 11pm so there is plenty of time to link up your posts (old and new posts are welcome!). Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can also link up (the badge code is below). I will also try and share posts via Twitter – please use the hashtag #ftmob and I’ll do my best to retweet them. I also have a Pinterest board and will be sharing posts here too.
Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying!
This is my first time to link-up, yay! Kids do say the darnest things don’t they? So cute. T is the same, but the problem is, I’m sometimes too slow I keep forgetting to blog about it 😉 #ftmob
So lovely to have you joining in, thank you for linking up 🙂
Aw bless I love reason behind it. My son starts school in September, exciting times ahead X #ftmob
Good luck with your son starting school in September too!
Thanks for the mention. It’s David last day of reception tomorrow. His progress may be slower than he other kids but the time passes just as fast!
Yes, I can imagine! Hope David has enjoyed his reception year and that you are having a lovely summer 🙂
Aww bless her love the things they come out with and hilarious that she assumes when Sophie has finished preschool that it will close! Xx
Thank you Caroline – it did make me chuckle when she said that! 🙂
