From the mouths of babes #75

From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!

A big thank you to everyone who linked up last week. I loved Domesstique’s vlogging outtakes with Olivia trying to share the link to the brand and Wave to Mummy’s list of things that she apparently does all day with her daughter.

Bunnies and bedtime stories - this week's #ftmob moments

I love seeing the way Jessica’s imagination is really developing now and one of my favourite things recently has been listening to the stories she creates.  We saw lots of wild rabbits whilst staying at Butlins a couple of weeks ago as well as plenty of seagulls which resulted in Jessica telling us the following story (which she then insisted on us telling back to her at bedtime for the rest of the week!)

“The rabbits were having their carrots. The seagull just took them.  The rabbits cried.  Mummy Rabbit was angry. Daddy Rabbit jumped higher and higher and got their carrots back. The end.”

We also get some interesting new Bible stories from her sitting and flicking through her children’s Bible and “reading” it to herself:

“God made some sheep and something new. It was a bed, a new bed.

‘It’s time for bed’, God said.

‘But I can carry my sheeps. I have lots of sheeps. It’s a long way to get to that tiger. How can we cross?’

He crossed it and it was Superman and he found a bridge where all the women were sleeping. And he made some horses. He rode on one of the horses and got us home safe and sound. The end.”

Sophie also loves to read herself bedtime stories and We’re Going On A Bear Hunt was a particular favourite whilst on holiday.

If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. The linky opens each Monday from 6am and closes on Friday at 11pm so there is plenty of time to link up your posts (old and new posts are welcome!). Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can also link up (the badge code is below). I will also try and share posts via Twitter – please use the hashtag #ftmob and I’ll do my best to retweet them. I also have a Pinterest board and will be sharing posts here too.

Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying!

  1. Oh my! I love Jessica’s story. It’s the sweetest story I’ve ever read. Such a great imagination. Welcome Superman- the new addition to our Bible stories. Super cute! Sophie, such a clever girl too. xx

    1. I did like Superman making an appearance in the Bible stories – not quite sure where that one came from though! 🙂
