From the mouths of babes #145 – Jokes and hand-me-downs

From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!

Thank you to everyone who linked up last week. Hank reflected on a wonderful day out that he needed to remember on the difficult days in Conversations with Hank and The Next Best Thing to Mummy shared a list of the funny and unfunny jokes that children tell.

Sophie wearing sun-glasses, flowers and pyjamas - "From the mouths of babes #145 - Jokes and hand-me-downs"

The girls have recently started telling jokes. Their current favourite goes as follows:

“Who’s there?”

“Lego who?”

“Lego sello!”

It makes absolutely no sense to me but the girls clearly find it hilarious. Seeing how much it makes them laugh does make me laugh even if I don’t get the punchline.

Sophie occasionally gets confused when it comes to growing up. She’s recently gained a new wardrobe thanks to Jessica’s hand-me-downs which leads to comments like these:

“When Jessica is a big girl like me, she used to wear this dressing gown!”

“When Jessica grows little, she can have my clothes!”

If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. The linky opens each Monday from 6am and closes on Friday at 11pm. Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can link up. I will share posts via Twitter. If you use the hashtag #ftmob I’ll also do my best to retweet them. Posts linked up will also be added to the #ftmob Pinterest board.

Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying!

  1. My girls are also confused about growing up, and we often get a lot of “When I’m a baby, do…” this and that 🙂 We also get a lot of nonsensical “knock knock” jokes here!! I’ve just linked my latest family update. For some reason, the commenting thing doesn’t work on it so don’t worry about it 🙂

    1. Lovely to have you joining in again! That knock-knock joke does make me laugh even if I have no idea why they find it so funny! 🙂
