From the mouths of babes #113 – Jessica’s bedtime song

From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!

Thank you to everyone who linked up last week. I loved Becoming a Stay at Home Mum’s latest update on LM reflecting on the terrible twos and sharing some of the things that LM has been saying lately.

Jessica sitting on the top bunk next to a large toy tiger in the hotel at Chessington - "From the mouths of babes #113 - Jessica's bedtime song"

Jessica was singing away to herself the other morning. She was making up a song about bedtime and the various steps that happen along the way. It was quite a long song and I can’t quite remember it all now, but these are the lines I particularly remember:

“I brush my teeth, teeth, teeth, so I don’t get cabities.” (cavities)

“I wash my hair, hair, hair and check for insects.” (the regular nit check is clearly a key part of the bathtime routine!)

The ending made me smile too:

“I go to bed, bed, bed and read a story. I say good night, night, night and kiss my mummy.”

Ah, bedtime kisses! Definitely the best way to end the song.

If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. The linky opens each Monday from 6am and closes on Friday at 11pm so there is plenty of time to link up your posts (old and new posts are welcome!). Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can also link up (the badge code is below). I will also try and share posts via Twitter – please use the hashtag #ftmob and I’ll do my best to retweet them. I also have a Pinterest board and will be sharing posts here too.

Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying!

  1. Hahaha, bless her! ‘Cabities’ is so much nicer than cavities, haha! At home, we don’t look for insects, we look for little crawlies, hehehe!

    1. I quite like “cabities” too! Little crawlers is a good description. I hate doing the nit check but it has to be done! Thankfully we rarely find any! x
