I’m a little late with this week’s update, posting on a Saturday rather than a Friday! It’s been a bit of a hectic week with birthday celebrations, a dance festival, spending time with family and friends, activities, meetings and starting to prepare for going back to school next week.
We’ve ticked off most of the activities on our summer list and the few things that are left are easily doable over the last few days of the summer holidays. It’s been nice to be busy and to have fun together but I have to admit that part of me is looking forward to getting back to routines again and having headspace to focus on the things I need to do during the day!
What I’ve been grateful for this week:
- Day 236 – I am grateful for a family meal out to celebrate my husband’s birthday.
- Day 237 – I am grateful for a lovely end to this year’s festival season for Sophie with a 2nd place for her tap solo and 4th place in modern.
- Day 238 – I am grateful for yummy food and time spent catching up with friends at the Radway summer garden party.
- Day 239 – I am grateful for time spent reminiscing with my husband about our student days over lunch at the Crown Inn. Love that the pub and the menu haven’t changed much since those days.
- Day 240 – I am grateful for libraries. Summer reading challenge complete!
- Day 241 – I am grateful that we now have show t-shirts. 9 weeks to go until opening night!
- Day 242 – I am grateful for a good start back at stretch classes.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Spending some quiet time with Jessica.
- Surprising my mum with a visit as Sophie had a long break between dances at the dance festival and we were nearby.
- Seeing photos of my new great-nephew who was born earlier this week.
- Meeting up with my husband’s cousins for a meal on the way home to Luxembourg from their trip visiting other family and friends in the UK.
- Sophie having her last tuition session to prepare for next month’s 11+ exam.
It sounds like things have been busy for you and your family. Good job with your summer list. I am looking forward to getting back into a bit of a routine too.
Happy birthday to your husband. x
All the very best with getting ready for back to school. All the best to your littles for a good school year too.
Happy birthday to your husband and well done Sophie on your medals
Your weeks always sound hectic to me. It has gotten quite boring for me as my kids have grown up. I really miss those days of parks and days out and classes, and getting ready to go back to school. It sounds nice meeting up with family though, and welcome to your new great-nephew.
Well done to Sophie with her Dance exams and good luck to her with her 11+ exams coming up, great timings. Welcome to the world to your great nephew, hope you get to see him in the flesh soon.
Hope back to school goes well for Sophie and Thomas.
Happy birthday to your husband. Good luck to Sophie with her exams.
