We’ve been on half-term break this week and it’s been a nice balance of planned days out, chilled out time at home, visiting family and friends and low-key activities like a trip to the park or a movie evening. It’s been good to have fun moments together but also have some downtime too. I managed to get in a little bit of me-time as well, getting out for a snowdrop walk with a local walking group.
Half-term can often be a bit hectic with dance festivals. Sophie does have a dance festival this week, but it’s all over the weekend. While that will mean she has a busy couple of days before going back to school on Monday, it’s better then having it spread out over the week so it feels like we’ve had a nice balance with the dance festival and other half-term activities too.
What I’ve been grateful for this week:
- Day 45 – I am grateful that Sophie had fun at her friend’s birthday party.
- Day 46 – I am grateful for getting out for a walk and seeing lots of pretty snowdrops along the way.
- Day 47 – I am grateful for Thomas getting his first swim certificate.
- Day 48 – I am grateful for a lovely start to the half-term break with a play date.
- Day 49 – I am grateful that Sophie had fun at the drop-off day at Iver Environment Centre.
- Day 50 – I am grateful for a lovely day spending time with my mum.
- Day 51 – I am grateful for a day out in London going on the London Eye and visiting the National Portrait Gallery.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Thomas “standing” on the ceiling.
- Catching up with my sisters.
- The Paddington mural near Waterloo station.
- Getting to share my love of history with Sophie while looking at the portraits in the National Portrait Gallery.
Joining in with Raisie Bay for Word of the Week.
I would be grateful for the balance. I love when I manage to get it right 🙂
What a great half term, you really have found a good balance of busy and chilled time.
Lovely photos. x
It sounds like you have had a lovely half-term the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. I always try to plan our time off together like that too.
I love the Paddington mural it’s so colourful.
Well done to Thomas for his swimming certificate!
I wish I’d dragged N off to London for a visit. I feel like I’ve not been for ages, but I know he’d moan unless we took a friend, and that’s a hassle to organise. Love the Paddington mural.
Well done Thomas on his swimming certificate. Hope Sophie’s dance festival goes well.
Well done on Thomas’ first swimming certificate, that’s a big milestone and hope Sophie’s dance went well. Looks like you have had a fun week
What a fun photo of Thomas standing on the ceiling, he looks so happy. Big well done to him for getting his 1st swimming certificate! Sounds like your week was hectic but fun.
The Paddington mural is so vibrant and colourful. Glad you took Sophie out to look at the old paintings.
I’d love to go to London again, haven’t been in a long time, and there are so many museums to visit there.
I’ve seen how well Sophie has been doing, you must be so proud of your little dancer. You always seem so busy I’m glad you’ve found some balance this week.
Sounds like you had a fab half term which was well balanced with a mixture of activities. I hope Sophie had a good time at the dance festival.
Sounds like you had a really nice week. Love the photo of Thomas upside down, made me smile
It looks like you all had so much fun during the holidays. I’d love a trip to London. Great to have time to catch up with your sisters also. Love the photo of Thomas walking on the ceiling.
