I’ve had some proud mum moments this week. After the disappointment last week with Sophie’s show being cancelled, we finally had the joy of a wider family trip to see the show with Thomas, my mum, my in-laws and one of my sisters all coming to watch Sophie in Chitty. Needless to say, we were all very proud of her.

I was also proud of Thomas too for coping so well and managing to sit through the show. He did get a little upset when the Childcatcher caught Jeremy and Jemima and he thought Sophie was being taken away. I had to reassure him that it was just pretend and that Sophie was fine.
We had another proud moment with Sophie mid-week when we were invited to her school’s prize-giving afternoon where she was awarded the Year 7 prize for drama.
I’m proud of both her and Thomas for how well they’ve both settled into new schools this year. I can’t quite believe that we’re at the end of Sophie’s first year at secondary and Thomas’s first year at junior school. Sophie breaks up today for the summer but Thomas still has another couple of days before he finishes.
What I’ve been grateful for this week:

- Day 191 – I am grateful for the cooler night air.
- Day 192 – I am grateful for Sophie’s help with some garden maintenance at Grandma’s house.
- Day 193 – I am grateful for a lovely family afternoon at the theatre seeing Sophie in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. So glad that her grandparents and one of her aunties got to see it this afternoon as well.
- Day 194 – I am grateful that our new slushie machine is good for making frozen cocktails as well as slushies for the kids.
- Day 195 – I am grateful for getting to see Sophie being awarded the Year 7 drama award at her school’s prize giving afternoon.
- Day 196 – I am grateful for another fun tinker crate project to make a ball maze.
- Day 197 – I am grateful that Sophie and Thomas enjoyed a water fight with their friends from their dance school.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Celebrating 17 years of being married to my lovely husband.
- Meeting up with a friend for breakfast and having a catch-up.

It sounds like you have every reason to be proud. Well done to Sophie with the show and Thomas sitting through it. I hope the kids have a fab summer break!
Lovely photos! Yay to the slushie machine and the water fight looks like fun. Happy anniversary to you and your husband.
