This week is show week for Into the Woods, with the last few rehearsals and then the excitement (and nerves!) of opening night and the first performance.

It’s been such a brilliant show to be part of, with an amazing cast of lovely, talented, friendly people. We have an amazing set on two levels, which also includes a slide and a swing and I’ve just been having so much fun this week playing Jack’s Mother. We had a good luck video message for opening night from the West End cast of Into the Woods which was really lovely.
It’s been full-on and busy but nice that I’ve mostly been able to focus on the one show for me this week (and leave my husband to do all the running around with the kids’ after-school activities!) although as soon as this show finishes, it will be full-on again with getting into the theatre for Doctor Dolittle.
What I’ve been grateful for this week:

- Day 282 – I am grateful for a breakfast date with my husband.
- Day 283 – I am grateful for being sent a gorgeous video clip of my girls opening a present together – how wonderful to hear Jessica’s sweet voice and see that beautiful bond between my beautiful girls once more.
- Day 284 – I am grateful for getting though a busy day of rehearsals – panto rehearsal and an audition for Sophie, and a full run of Doctor Dolittle and first tech rehearsal for Into the Woods for me. Show week 1 has started!
- Day 285 – I am grateful for a cup of tea and a muffin at the end of a Monday morning walk.
- Day 286 – I am grateful for 26 years of us.
- Day 287 – I am grateful for getting to play Jack’s Mother on stage in Into the Woods. A fabulous first night. Well done everyone!
- Day 288 – I am grateful for managing to find a suitable plastic jar for Sophie to take to STEAM Club today in spite of the very last minute request!
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Sophie being part of the colour party at the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade enrolment service.
- Seeing a pretty rainbow on the way to the bus stop on Monday morning.

- After-school trips to the playground with Thomas.
