I’ve been enjoying the lovely sunshine and warm weather over the past couple of weeks although it was nice to get a bit of rain too this week – and the garden certainly appreciated it! It’s been lovely seeing the roses blooming, and to be able to start to pick raspberries and strawberries from the garden too. It certainly feels like summer has arrived.
What I’ve been grateful for over the last couple of weeks:
- Day 153 – I am grateful for a lovely day out at Whipsnade Zoo.
- Day 154 – I am grateful for a lovely evening enjoying dinner with friends.
- Day 155 – I am grateful for a lovely afternoon at Chiltern Open Air Museum with friends from church.
- Day 156 – I am grateful for an open afternoon getting to see Sophie’s classroom and her school work.
- Day 157 – I am grateful for the beautiful roses in the garden.
- Day 158 – I am grateful for seeds.
- Day 159 – I am grateful for home-made ice lollies.
- Day 160 – I am grateful for Sophie bringing home the beautiful plate she made at her Girls’ Brigade sleepover.
- Day 161 – I am grateful for Numberblocks pyjamas.
- Day 162 – I am grateful for a 4th place medal for Sophie in her tap solo today.
- Day 163 – I am grateful for wildflowers.
- Day 164 – I am grateful that Sophie’s audition to be in The Little Mermaid for the Beck Theatre summer youth project was successful. Looking forward to seeing her performing in this in August!
- Day 165 – I am grateful for the occasional glimpse of Jessica in things her siblings do and say. Not that I want Sophie and Thomas to be anything but their own beautiful selves but the little moments of sibling likeness that bring back the reality of life with Jessica are precious too.
- Day 166 – I am grateful for a lovely day out helping with Thomas on his school trip.
Other things that have made me smile over the last couple of weeks:
- Seeing the red pandas at Whipsnade Zoo.
- Watching a butterfly settle on Thomas in the butterfly house at Whipsnade Zoo.
- After-school trips to the park.
- Having a chilled out Sunday afternoon watching musicals on TV.
The sunshine has been lovely but we’ve had no rain, my garden could really do with it, especially the grass.
What lovely photos. It looks like a great couple of weeks. x
Thanks Kim. The garden would definitely appreciate a little more rain!
We’ve had a lovely week of sunshine too, and we did have some rain but I think it was last weekend. I miss the trips to park.
Glad you’ve had a lovely week of sunshine too.
I love the idea of saying what you’re grateful for every day! Looks like you’ve had a lovely few weeks.

Thank you, it’s something I started doing a few years ago and I find it helps to keep looking out for something positive each day.
Although the outside temperature has been great, we haven’t seen any downpours and my garden, especially the grass, might benefit from some.
What beautiful images. It has been a wonderful few weeks. And thanks for sharing these memorable moments with us. I appreciate your effort and hope that you continue to do this in the future.
I’m not a fan of the hot weather but it is nice to be able to spend lots of time outside: you’ve certainly been out and about this week! #project365
I don’t like it when it’s too hot but it was nice to have the sunshine and make the most of being able to get outside.
What a fantastic moment with the butterfly. It really does look like you have been enjoying the sunshine #WotW
It was so lovely to see the butterfly settle on Thomas. He was quite fascinated by it.
Sophie suddenly looks so grown up. My kids would have freaked to have a butterfly land on them, especially at that age
He was much calmer about it than I thought he would be.
I love open days at school to showcase the children’s work. Love the plate Sophie made at girls brigade and well done to her with her auction. Cute how Thomas doesn’t mind the butterfly landing on him.
I love open days too. It’s so nice being able to see Sophie’s work and see her classroom.
