The Friday Focus – 14/11/14

With Sophie suddenly becoming so much more confident on her feet, this week has seen more opportunity for her to enjoy

Friday Focus 14-Nov-14Our milestone moment of the week was Sophie being able to walk to one of our regular toddler groups for the first time – she was carried for some of the way but did manage to walk quite a significant chunk of the way there and it was so wonderful to have a little girl holding on to each hand.

Here’s a summary of some of the other things we’ve been up to this week:

Out and About:
We’ve been to our usual groups, one of which is very local, and Sophie walked there for the first time (or at least part of it anyway!) – a lovely moment of walking with a little girl holding each hand. We also went to Ruislip Lido and had a walk around there and the girls got to play in the play area too which they enjoyed. Nanny also had the girls for an afternoon whilst hubby and I went to the cardiac consultation review event in Southampton about the future of children’s cardiac services in Southampton – a very interesting afternoon and has left us thinking about what we want to feed back in the consultation survey.

Fun at home:
We’ve started making some Christmas cards this week – Jessica has been enjoying doing some painting and then sticking stars and sparkly strips on to Christmas tree shapes for her cards. Sophie has been enjoying pulling Jessica’s books out of the bookcases and loves to sit there with them, turning the pages and looking at the pictures. It is lovely to see her starting to really take more of an interest in books now.

Time for me:
Most of my me time this week has involved catching up on blogging once the girls are in bed although hubby and I did get to spend the afternoon together without the girls when we went for the cardiac consultation review – not the best quality time together but still time together! I did also make sure I got an early night one night this week which was definitely much needed!

My happiest moment:
Sitting and having a long snuggle with a sleeping Sophie whilst Jessica was having her afternoon nap – I cannot remember the last time I sat for so long with her sleeping on my chest and just relaxed and focused on that lovely moment.

Next week I would like to:
Start clearing out the study (which is currently a junk room) in preparation for actually turning it into a useable room rather than just a dumping area for things that don’t have an obvious home.

  2. Lovely, seeing your two girls always makes me smile. I do miss those snuggles, but I do get great cuddles instead now. And well done on the walking-no stopping her now! x

    1. Aw thank you Iona. Yes, definitely no stopping her now – she loves being on the move. Was so lovely to sit and have snuggles though 🙂

    1. Thank you – those little snuggles were magical, they don’t happen so often these days. Lovely to link up to #WotW again 🙂

  3. Love the photo of them in their suits – so adorable! But I must say, my favourite has to be the last one. I love photos of children asleep, especially in their mothers arms. Precious! #wotw.

    1. Thank you – there’s just something about a sleeping baby, isn’t there? And those little snuggles were so precious 🙂

    1. Definitely a special milestone. They all get there at such different times. Jessica was 21 months before she walked on her own so Sophie feels like she is walking really early!
