It’s been a week of achievements, starting with Thomas getting a certificate for winning the November marks competition at Boys’ Brigade last Friday. He also came home with a chocolate Santa for having the best Christmas jumper at his Anchor’s session last week.
On Saturday, we had the dance school Christmas party, where various awards and exam certificates were handed out. Both Sophie and Thomas got individual awards – Thomas for showing huge improvement in his classes, and Sophie for growing as a dancer and being a kind and help friend to everyone. Sophie got her Grade 3 tap award and certificate. She passed with distinction, getting 92 marks, which was the highest mark in her dance school. Her exam mark also meant that she’s been invited to take part in a junior tap workshop at the International Theatre Dance Awards in February, plus she’s also been chosen as one of the Head Girls at the dance school, which she is really pleased about.
Thomas got a certificate at school this week for completing his classwork and having kind hands, which are two things that he’s been struggling with recently. He’s seemed much more settled at school over the last few weeks which is really good.
It was so lovely to see Sophie in one of her panto performances on Sunday. She did so well playing one of the dwarves. She’s performing again today in two more shows and then tomorrow she and Thomas both have dance exams. It’ll be Thomas’s first dance exam and I’m so proud of him for being able to take it – another little achievement for him. Lots of proud mummy moments this week!
What I’ve been grateful for this week:
- Day 341 – I am grateful for a great couple of weeks at Boys’ Brigade for Thomas. He was very happy coming out today with a certificate for winning the marks competition for last month and a chocolate Santa for having the best Christmas jumper.
- Day 342 – I am grateful for a lovely evening at Sophie and Thomas’s dance school’s Christmas party.
- Day 343 – I am grateful for getting to see Sophie perform in panto. So proud of her for doing so well and so lovely to be there with such a big group from her dance school who also came along to support her.
- Day 344 – I am grateful for Thomas getting a certificate of achievement at school.
- Day 345 – I am grateful for a day of just working my way through various things on the to-do list without feeling overwhelmed by any of them.
- Day 346 – I am grateful for a lovely evening catching up with my Wind in the Willows friends.
- Day 347 – I am grateful for friends who remember and include Jessica in their Christmas cards. Always means so much to know she is still thought of.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Baking snowman cakes for the dance school Christmas party.
- Seeing a rainbow on the way to school.
- Being almost finished with the Christmas shopping.
- Thomas and Sophie snuggling together on the sofa while reading one of their Advent books.
Joining in with Raisie Bay for Word of the Week.
So proud of you all! And that rainbow was a belter – we saw it too.
Thanks Cathy x
