Life continues to be very full in the LHBL house with lots of things going on. Sophie has been busy juggling rehearsals and dancing plus trying to keep up with her school work and doing a sponsored bike ride as part of a school fundraising project. I’ve been busy with work, rehearsals and taking Sophie and Thomas to and from their various activities.

Thomas has been full of imagination this week, creating another comic about his Colorball world and telling me about various birthdays that his Colorball characters have been celebrating this week. He’s also told me that Colorball Day is coming up next week on 12th May, so we’ll have to find a way of celebrating that. I do love how detailed this imaginary world of his is.
In amongst all the fun of the various activities, my head has been quite full due to other things that have been going on under the surface which have been quite stressful. One of them has involved navigating other people’s responses to my son’s neurodivergent behaviour which have felt quite hurtful. I’ve been grateful for the people who been supportive and understanding this week. There’s been some difficult conversations, but I feel the week has ended in a more positive place which is good. It’s not been school-related. The support in place in school at the moment is working well for Thomas and he’s been more settled there.
What I’ve been grateful for this week:

- Day 121 – I am grateful for the people in my life who support and accept Thomas as the wonderful little person he is, helping and encouraging him to be the best version of himself that he can be.
- Day 122 – I am grateful for a sponsored bike ride for Sophie raising money as part of a school fundraising project.
- Day 123 – I am grateful for watching Sophie dance so beautifully at today’s dance festival. She placed in all her sections and got the sash for highest scoring inter tap solo with an amazing score of 98.
- Day 124 – I am grateful for an afternoon at the funfair.
- Day 125 – I am grateful for the little things that make my boy happy.
- Day 126 – I am grateful that all the documents I’m currently working on are also accessible on my laptop.
- Day 127 – I am grateful for the things that bring me joy.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Chatting with a friend over coffee.
- Sophie helping me with a tap routine for one of the songs in the concert. It’s been eight years since I last did tap lessons and I was struggling to process the steps quickly enough as it was quite a fast routine. Sophie was brilliant. She picked it up straight away, and then broke down each move, going over it all with me until I managed to get it all straight in my head.

I am always amazed at how full your life is, with everything that you have going on! You do so well to keep those plates spinning!
Aww! Thomas has such a wonderful imagination. So sorry you have had to deal with negative people. Thomas is such a sweet young man.
Fab photos!
Always handy when you’ve got children who can teach you things. Glad the week ended up more positive with Thomas. And well done Sophie for her dance competition.
I’m sorry you have had some negative experiences. I think sometimes people just don’t want to be understanding of others. I hope Thomas enjoys celebrating Colourball day; it sounds like fun.
Well done to Sophie on her sponsored bike ride, I hope it raised lots of funds.
Sophie is amazing helping you with your tap dancing routine. Do you know what? stuff those who can’t accept Thomas for who he is, that’s their problem not yours and certainly not his. It’s exhausting. We had this all the time with Stephanie. I used to say ‘life was hard enough as it was without your unecessary comments’ Sorry you’re having to deal with this.
