Friday Focus 01/05/2026 – Performing

It’s been a busy week of performing in the LHBL household with a day of singing songs to advertise the concert I’m taking part in, Thomas’s first LAMDA exam, show rehearsals for Sophie and a concert rehearsal for me.

The word 'performing' in bubble writing on a doodled stage

Thomas’s LAMDA exam went well. As part of the extra support in place, his drama teacher was allowed to be in the room with him and said that he performed his poem really well. I’m so proud of him for coping with it all so well.

Sophie is really enjoying her rehearsals and getting her to and from rehearsals is certainly keeping me busy. I’ve also been busy preparing for my next show – a concert called ‘From Stage to Screen’ which we’re performing in just over two weeks’ time. I have two solos and a duet as well as the various group numbers. It was lovely to perform some of the numbers in the shopping centre to advertise the concert.

I also got to see some of my am-dram friends performing in their production of ‘Come From Away’ which was absolutely superb.

What I’ve been grateful for this week:

A Brainiac award for Thomas; me with my am-dram friends performing at the shopping centre; Thomas outside LAMDA; azaleas in Langley Park; Thomas playing Sonic; a pistachio ice cream; a pink rose - "#365daysofgratitude 2026 - Week 17"

  • Day 114 – I am grateful that Thomas has had a good week at school and got a Brainiac award.

  • Day 115 – I am grateful for getting to sing songs from the next WOS Productions concert at the Chimes.

  • Day 116 – I am grateful that Thomas coped so well with his first LAMDA exam.

  • Day 117 – I am grateful for all the beautiful colours on this morning’s walk.

  • Day 118 – I am grateful for retro video games.

  • Day 119 – I am grateful for pistachio ice cream.

  • Day 120 – I am grateful for the first rose appearing in the garden.

Other things that have made me smile this week:

  • A phone call from school letting me know what a good week Thomas has had.

  • A dream visit from Jessica.

  • Sophie and Thomas having cuddles before school.

I have tried that pistachio Cornetto too, but found it too sweet, especially the top layer.
Nature is so pretty at this time of the year, there is so much in bloom.
