It’s been an exciting week with Sophie making her professional theatre debut as Jemima in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

We saw her first show last Saturday and were absolutely blown away by the whole production which was incredibly clever and so creatively staged. Sophie performed beautifully and made us all very proud. It was a magical evening and we loved every moment of the show.

Sophie’s dance teachers and one of her dance friends also came to see her first show. Her director from panto was in the audience for her second show and hadn’t realised Sophie was in the show so I had a lovely text message from him expressing his surprise and complimenting Sophie on her performance.
This week has also seen the start of two new shows for me with the first rehearsal for Into the Woods and the launch night for Doctor Dolittle. Into the Woods is with an am-dram group that I’ve not performed with before, so I’ll be making my debut performance with them in the autumn. The launch for Doctor Dolittle saw the debut appearance of the amazing animal puppets that have been made for the show. It’s going to be a busy summer and autumn for us with shows but will be a lot of fun too!
What I’ve been grateful for this week:

- Day 149 – I am grateful for all the beautiful roses in my garden.
- Day 150 – I am grateful for the absolute joy of watching Sophie on stage, making her professional debut as Jemima in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. So very proud of her.
- Day 151 – I am grateful for pretty peonies in Jessica’s vase.
- Day 152 – I am grateful for enjoying a morning at Cliveden with Thomas.
- Day 153 – I am grateful that Thomas enjoyed taking part in Science club.
- Day 154 – I am grateful that the first patches have been sewn on to my new rehearsal bag.
- Day 155 – I am grateful for some fun with Bear after Sophie’s dance class.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Lots of fresh flowers around the house thanks to Sophie being gifted several bouquets after her first night!

- Thomas joining in with some crafts at Cliveden.

- Getting out with the walking group for the first time in a while.

Congrats to Sophie! You must be so, so proud. What a star she is! Wonderful photos!
Sophie looks so at home on stage; it sounds like her debut went brilliantly.
What a busy time you have coming up, but it all sounds like lots of fun.
I love Thomas’s space t-shirt. He looks engrossed in the flower craft. Flowers certainly have featured heavily this week, and they all look beautiful.
Such a talented family with all the performing and huge congratulations to Sophie with her role on stage. Hopefully we’ll be seeing her in the West end one day, I’m sure if it’s what she wants, then she’ll do it.
Wow, Sophie is one talented little girl! Congratulations to her and to mum, because we all know the hard work mum’s have to do as well. Thomas is looking so grown up now, I love the concentration he is showing with his crafting and those lovely long eyelashes.
How exciting, sounds like Sophie’s first perfomance went well. Hope the rest of the run goes as well too. and good luck for your shows too. Busy theatre family.
Congratulations to Sophie! A West End star in the making. I wonder where she gets it from 😀 Good luck for your shows as well.
