This week has certainly been a soggy one – such a contrast to the glorious sunshine and hot weather we had a couple of weeks ago! But on the plus side, the rain has been good for the garden and the British weather is always a good starting point for conversations!

Waterproofs have definitely been needed this week for getting out and about. Sophie had a day out on Saturday, enjoying a trip to Hobbledown Heath with the Girls’ Brigade. They all had lots of fun despite the rain. She was less keen on having outdoor PE lessons in the rain later in the week and on having to wait in the rain when there was an issue with her school bus and she had to wait for a replacement bus to arrive. She was a bit worried about getting home late as she had a show that evening, but fortunately the bus did get her home without it having to be too much of a rush to get out again.
I had a very soggy walk with my walking group but it was still nice to get out and chat to people along the way.
What I’ve been grateful for this week:

- Day 156 – I am grateful for brunch with a friend and a lovely belated birthday gift.
- Day 157 – I am grateful for Thomas passing his LAMDA exam and the lovely comments from the examiner describing him as filling a room “with energy, enthusiasm and vitality” and being “a whirlwind of joy”
- Day 158 – I am grateful for time to decompress.
- Day 159 – I am grateful that Sophie had fun making a flip book machine.
- Day 160 – I am grateful for a productive day at home.
- Day 161 – I am grateful for a new patch added to Sophie’s blanket.
- Day 162 – I am grateful for waterproofs.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Playing the organ for church on Sunday and using the pedals without needing to constantly look at my feet to make sure they’re in the right places!
- A lovely long catch-up with a friend after church.
- Having a puppet workshop and getting to try out the animal puppets ahead of auditions for Doctor Dolittle.
- Reading lots of lovely reviews for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

It has been a really wet week hasn’t it. I had to go out on Thursday and it rained so much we got back in the car and parked around the corner in the covered car park. Well done to Thomas!
Oh it’s been horrendously wet, definitely. N didn’t take a coat one day, and because of exams they’ve had PE outside too. Not the best. Glad the bus issue didn’t impact Sophie’s show. Well done Thomas on his exam results, and lovely comments. Love your organ pedal win too – sometimes it’s the little (or can feel like a big thing) that makes us smile
Walks in the rain are sometimes fun. We have also done a few wet and muddy ones. What a lovely comment for Thomas – such a great compliment.
Last week was a soggy one but I think my garden was glad for all the rain and this week seems drier so far!
Well done to Thomas with is exam results.
The garden certainly enjoyed last week’s weather! Our grass needs cutting again.
Thank goodness Sophie’s bus arrived on time. I hope she wasn’t too stressed.
Well done to Thomas on his exam. It sounds like he’s having a great time.
That rain feels like so long ago now doesn’t it, the garden really needs it again, if only we could get the balance right
What a lovely week you’ve had. The patch is lovely and so are the flowers. Well done to Thomas.
