The school summer break is one of my favourite times of year. I love the sunshine and the warm weather, and being able to enjoy time with my children. It’s been nice to start the summer holidays this year with a trip away, and we enjoyed the break from normality during our holiday in Luxembourg and Belgium. It was a much-needed break for me from the to-do list and jobs that I normally have to do during the week, and I certainly feel a lot better for it!
Both Sophie and Thomas enjoyed their holiday, especially being able to spend time with their cousins and enjoy various days out. We decided to break up the journey home from Luxembourg by spending a couple of nights in Charleroi, in Belgium. On our way there, we stopped off at the Euro Space Center, and had a fun afternoon there doing a planet trail, taking a virtual trip to the Moon and doing a virtual Moon walk.
Since getting home, I’ve been enjoying lots of Mummy-Thomas time whilst Sophie has been enjoying a Wild Week at Iver Environment Centre doing lots of fun outdoor activities. I’ve been able to ease back into the to-do list at a nice gentle pace as well, which has been nice.
What I’ve been grateful for this week:
- Day 208 – I am grateful that Thomas has had a fun birthday.
- Day 209 – I am grateful for an afternoon of fun at a science museum.
- Day 210 – I am grateful for a lovely week away enjoying time with my family.
- Day 211 – I am grateful for fans.
- Day 212 – I am grateful for the things that kept Thomas entertained while I had a meeting at church (which included taking random photos on my phone!)
- Day 213 – I am grateful for getting to enjoy a cuppa at HALO play café while Thomas had fun in the soft play.
- Day 214 – I am grateful that we had the playground all to ourselves this morning.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Thomas’s excitement at getting a birthday shoutout on his favourite YouTube channel.
- Starting to set scenes at Wind in the Willows rehearsals.
- Watching Thomas having fun with the new toys he got for his birthday.
What a lovely way to start the Summer holidays! And it sounds like the weather has been really good too. Your little ones are making memories that will last for a lifetime. It’s nice too, to get to the to do list at a much more manageable pace. Hope it continues to be a good break for all of you. Cheers from hot Florida!
That sounds like a brilliant start to the summer holidays. A playground to yourself is a rare and wonderful thing. I am also very grateful for fans this week!
