Creating artwork with my kids for a competition with BIC® Kids and Mumsnet plus a BIC® KIDS giveaway

My eldest daughter loves drawing. Some days it is a challenge to keep up with her paper requirements as she can spend hours sitting and doodling. Her beloved dolly Kerry is always a favourite subject when it comes to drawing. She features in most of Jessica’s pictures. Jessica also loves to look through my sketchbook and recreate some of my drawings too.

I love encouraging Jessica to be creative. I often find that drawing helps to calm her down when she gets angry about things. For me, it also helps give me a glimpse into some of the things that might be bothering her. She tends not to talk about things that worry her. I think drawing can often be an outlet for those things though. It’s also a wonderful glimpse into her imagination. It’s interesting to see her drawings change over time and see the little details that she starts to add.

With all that drawing, I have to be very selective over what I can display on the fridge! I recently entered one of Jessica’s pictures into a competition hosted by Mumsnet in collaboration with BIC® Kids to be in with a chance to my child’s artwork from the fridge door to a billboard display for all to see.
