Jessica and Sophie on the Adventure Tree ride at Chessington World of Adventures

The summer holidays for us are going to be very much focused on making memories before Jessica has to go into hospital for her next open-heart surgery. We decided to surprise the girls with a day out at Chessington World of Adventures as we are Chessington Blogger Ambassadors this year.     We made it… Read More

Buzzyhumming Summer at the Roald Dahl Museum

There’s something amazing about being able to walk in the footsteps of an iconic author and see the things that inspired them. For anyone who has read and loved a Roald Dahl book, the Roald Dahl Museum and the surrounding village of Great Missenden is a fascinating place to visit. There are three interactive galleries… Read More

#30DaysWild – Looking for mini beasts on a day out at Legoland

08/06/201703/06/2019
Sophie looking inside a hollowed out log at Legoland

Legoland is one of the girls’ favourite places. Before Jessica started school, we made the most of term-time days out thanks to the preschool pass. Our visits are much more infrequent now. It was a lovely surprise for Sophie this week to be able to visit again as part of a day out arranged by… Read More

Fairies, fauns and unicorns: an adventure in an Enchanted Museum

A fairy princess riding a unicorn

A little imagination combined with a walk in the woods can turn a day out into a fairytale adventure for my girls. An evening at one of their favourite places, with the promise of getting to see real fairies and magical creatures is irresistible. The Enchanted Museum event at Chiltern Open Air Museum was one… Read More

A close up of one of the rhododendrons at Langley Park

Langley Park is one of our favourite places to visit. It is especially pretty at this time of year with all the rhododendrons in bloom in the Temple Gardens. It’s the perfect place for a walk on a sunny spring afternoon.     Sophie always enjoys deciding on our route through the Temple Gardens. There… Read More

Seeing Bagpuss and the Clangers at the River & Rowing Museum

Toad on the steps of Toad Hall with his motor car outside

I loved Bagpuss when I was a little girl. It was one of my favourite children’s programmes. We have all the episodes on DVD and my girls love it almost as much as I did. They also love watching the Clangers on CBeebies. When I spotted that the River & Rowing Museum in Henley had… Read More

Ruislip Fairy Village

Sophie looking at one of the fairy doors with her Periwinkle fairy doll

Ruislip Fairy Village has been on my list of places to visit for a while now. We were unable to visit until recently though as the village was vandalised last year and forced to close. It’s now been restored and re-opened on Easter Sunday. With Sophie starting back at Tiny Talk classes nearby, we finally… Read More
