#365daysofgratitude – Week 41

For the last two years, I have taken part in a daily gratitude challenge – sharing one photo a day on Instagram of something I am grateful for. It’s taught me to look for the little things and has made me a more positive person. It has not always been easy to find something to be grateful for each day though, especially since losing my beautiful daughter Jessica in April. Jessica’s zest for life, her strength and the joy that she gave to all who knew her have always inspired me. I continue with this challenge every day in honour of her.

Day 280 – I am grateful for dinner with my in-laws and Auntie Marls to celebrate Auntie Marls’s birthday. Thomas enjoyed his cuddles!

Day 281 – I am grateful for being able to spend time crafting with Sophie.

Day 282 – I am grateful that Sophie brought home her first reading book tonight. She did so well sounding out the words and reading it this evening. So proud.

Day 283 – I am grateful for this beautiful picture of my two girls which was sent to me by a very kind friend.

Day 284 – I am grateful for all of Thomas’s adorable expressions.

Day 285 – I am grateful to everyone who voted for me in this year’s Britmums #BiBs2018 awards. Very chuffed to be this year’s Inspire award winner. The Inspire award this year is dedicated to the much-missed @witwitwoo but I’d also like to dedicate it to my beautiful Jessica who was and continues to be my biggest inspiration.

Day 286 – I am grateful that the weather stayed dry for the Little Hearts Matter memorial walk today. Sophie made some beautiful hearts in memory of Jessica to hang on the LHM tree. It has been an emotional day, but it felt appropriate to be doing this walk today exactly six months on from Jessica’s last day on this earth. It’s also 18 years today since hubby and I got together. Our journey through life has been very different to how I imagined it would be but having this wonderful man by my side makes the road a little easier to travel.
