For the last two years, I have taken part in a daily gratitude challenge – sharing one photo a day on Instagram of something I am grateful for. It’s taught me to look for the little things and has made me a more positive person. It has not always been easy to find something to be grateful for each day though, especially since losing my beautiful daughter Jessica in April. Jessica’s zest for life, her strength and the joy that she gave to all who knew her have always inspired me. I continue with this challenge every day in honour of her.
Day 210 – I am grateful for my three beautiful children. Sophie is being so loving with her baby brother and I know Jessica would have been wonderful with him too.
Day 211 – I am grateful that all was well with Thomas’s newborn check today and that Sophie enjoyed helping check him over too.
Day 212 – I am grateful for lovely visitors. It’s been a busy day as we’ve also been having a new carpet fitted in what will be Sophie’s bedroom but lovely to also have some friends come and meet Thomas today too.
Day 213 – I am grateful for the way that Sophie adores her baby brother.
Day 214 – I am grateful for a week of having this beautiful boy in our lives. Can’t believe our wee man is a week old already.
Day 215 – I am grateful that this little man is now officially here as we registered his birth this afternoon. Our first stop on his first day out and about though had to be a visit to GreenAcres to visit his biggest sister. Sophie insisted on bringing Jessica’s cushion so she could be in the photo too. She put the cushion in the middle of the car where Jessica’s seat would have been so I got to have all three of my children in the car for our first drive out with Thomas. It’s been a very emotional day but it felt right to come here before going anywhere else.
Day 216 – I am grateful for getting out and about and having family time. We couldn’t resist taking a photo of Thomas next to his first gold postbox. Hubby questioned whether to embark upon the gold postbox challenge again with Sophie and Thomas. I think he was only half-joking…
