Word of the Week 30/05/14 – Hectic

This week can be summarised in the following word:

The word "hectic"Coming back home and unpacking from a weekend away, planning a holiday, getting used to the new car, trying to sort out travel insurance for my daughter which will cover her heart condition, editing the church magazine and putting it together ready to be printed, trying (and currently failing) to fix a problem with the church website, lots of extra cuddles being needed for my little girls (especially my baby who is teething at the moment). Plus hubby has been away working this week so just me and the girls.

Trying not to get stressed about it all, especially when the girls are fighting sleep and I can see my huge to-do list looming in my mind’s eye as I try to settle them. Cuddles are more important than jobs. I’ve had a few moments of reminding myself that the world will not come to an end if the church magazine comes out a couple of days late, or the housework is neglected for a little while. Amazingly though, I have managed to get to the end of the week with the items on my to-do list all ticked off and without having completely lost the plot over it all!

Hopefully next week will be a little more relaxing!

  1. Sounds very busy! Well done for ticking everything off your to-do list, I never manage that x

  2. It does sound very hectic! I have to remind myself of things like that if the kids are after cuddles or settling later, as I mentally think of all I have to do, too, which just makes me unnecessarily impatient. Glad you managed to get it all done, somehow! Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  3. What a busy week! hope you have a nice chilled out weekend 🙂 #WotW

  4. Whoa and I thought that I am busy =P

I do hope that next week will be slower for you. #wotw

  5. Hectic was going to be my word of the week as all the kids have been on half term holidays and dh has had to work late a few times this week. But I’m glad I didn’t choose it, your week was certainly much more hectic than mine!
I hope next week is a bit calmer for you x
