The Friday Focus – 07/11/14

This week has been a very busy one and has been very

Friday focus 07-Nov-14 01I’ve been busy putting together a booklet for the Remembrance Sunday service at church for my mother-in-law who has been researching all of the men from our church (or more accurately the churches which eventually joined together to become the church we are now) who died in WW1. I’ve also been putting together a slideshow of photos of the WW1 memorials and cemeteries in France and Belgium for the service as well. Plus we have also started rehearsals for our Christmas concert which my mother-in-law and I are organising. Busy times!

Here’s a summary of some of the other things we’ve been up to this week:

Out and About:
We headed off to Legoland on Monday for the last day of the season and although it was quite rainy and cold, we had a great day out. We also met up with one of my friends during the week at a local garden centre and Jessica and Sophie both enjoyed some time in the soft play area. It is lovely to watch Sophie being more confident on her feet now and really exploring.

Fun at home:
Jessica has been enjoying playing with jigsaws – these are her favourite things at the moment and she is really good at putting them together – she has a 45 piece In the Night Garden floor puzzle which she can do all by herself. Both girls had a fun day at home with Grandma and Grandad looking after them last Saturday as well.

Time for me:
Hubby and I had our first day out on our own in three years and enjoyed having a spa day. It was wonderful to have quality time together being ‘us’ rather than ‘mummy’ and ‘daddy’ and we both felt very relaxed and rejuvenated as a result!

I have also managed to find some time for craft and have managed to get five cushions made this week – very pleased with that!

My happiest moment:
Having a cuddle with my hubby whilst relaxing on our spa day.

Next week I would like to:
Catch up with some of my family.
