Sophie picking strawberries

One of my Christmas presents to my husband last year was a box of envelopes – each labelled with the month that he was to open them. In each of those envelopes is a note or an item relating to an activity I have planned for the month. Our activity for July was to go… Read More

Jessica standing in front of a tree looking out over a big branch - "Country Kids"

Welcome to Country Kids. Country Kids, originally hosted by Fiona at Coombe Mill, is all about sharing outdoor family fun. It was one of the first linkies I joined in when I started my blog four years ago and helped inspire me to enjoy so many outdoor adventures with my girls and create happy memories.… Read More

A ripe strawberry ready for picking

This is our third year taking part and I love how it encourages me to get outside with the children more and to take a closer look at the world around… Read More

Sophie wearing fairy wings and walking through the Temple Gardens at Langley Park

One of my favourite outdoor activities is looking for signs of fairies living in the woods. A little hole at the foot of a tree that surely must be a doorway to a fairy cottage. Little “elf hats” (acorn cups) discarded in autumn. Dewy webs on the ground – the remnants of a fairy picnic.… Read More

#30dayswild – A guided nature walk at Denham Country Park

05/06/201904/06/2019
Sophie walking along the Grand Union canal near Denham

Denham Country Park is one of my favourite places to explore. It’s a great place for learning more about nature and they often have sessions for children, such as river dipping and minibeast hunts. It’s part of the Colne Valley Regional Park which stretches from Staines to Rickmansworth. This week there are various free sessions… Read More
