From the mouths of babes #98

From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!

A big thank you to everyone who linked up last week.  I loved the video of LM chatting shared by Becoming a Stay at Home Mum and Boo’s letter to and conversation with Father Christmas shared by Odd Socks and Lollipops.

Sophie looking at one of her birthday cards: From the mouths of babes #98 - Chatting about cards

Hubby was home early enough for bedtime a couple of times last week. Sophie, however, is very much a mummy’s girl at the moment and was tearfully protesting having Daddy put her to bed instead.  Jessica tried to help soothe her little sister.

“Try Daddy, Sophie!” she said, “He’s nice!”

The girls found a couple of their birthday cards in a box the other day and were looking at them.

“Look Mummy,” Sophie said, opening her card up, “this one says Sophie and that one says Jekka”

“No, Sophie,” Jessica corrected her, showing her the card, “it says Jessica, not Jekka. Jess-i-ca.”

Sophie can say Jessica’s name correctly, but the earlier toddlerism “Jekka” seems to have stuck!

If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. The linky opens each Monday from 6am and closes on Friday at 11pm so there is plenty of time to link up your posts (old and new posts are welcome!). Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can also link up (the badge code is below). I will also try and share posts via Twitter – please use the hashtag #ftmob and I’ll do my best to retweet them. I also have a Pinterest board and will be sharing posts here too.

Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying!

  1. Jessica really is such a funny character! I love the idea to try Daddy, bwahaha! As for Jekka, it’s too cute for words! You’ll miss when she starts calling her Jessica!

    1. She is a little character – I do love it when she tries to give big sisterly advice! Jekka is a gorgeous toddlerism – I was sad when Sophie started being able to say Jessica because I thought we’d lose it but she’s still clinging on to her nickname for her big sister! 🙂
