From the mouths of babes #79

From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!

A big thank you to everyone who linked up last week. I loved Little Steps’ post with her daughter telling her that she was “retired from gymnastics now” and Susan K. Mann’s list of the things her children have been saying – my favourite being “Zumberzella”

Jessica and Sophie splashing around and throwing the ball in their "grimming pool"

We’ve had a lovely start to the summer holidays, enjoying the glorious weather and spending most of our time in the garden with the girls splashing about in the paddling pool, or “grimming pool” as Sophie calls it.

We’ve had silly moments of hide and seek games, chasing each other around and tickle fights.  During one of our tickle fights, Jessica objected to me lifting up her T shirt to tickle her tummy.

“Put it down, my lady!”

Being called “my lady” made me chuckle although I have to say, I much prefer “Mummy.”

On a day out to Bekonscot model village recently, we spotted some Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade figures.  Jessica was quite excited to see the Girls’ Brigade there:

“Which one is me, Mummy?”

We’ve also had lazy moments of just chilling indoors with CBeebies on.  Jessica quite likes My Pet and Me, although seeing the children looking after their pets made her a little sad:

“I haven’t got a pet, I just have Sophie.”

If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. The linky opens each Monday from 6am and closes on Friday at 11pm so there is plenty of time to link up your posts (old and new posts are welcome!). Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can also link up (the badge code is below). I will also try and share posts via Twitter – please use the hashtag #ftmob and I’ll do my best to retweet them. I also have a Pinterest board and will be sharing posts here too.

Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying!

  1. I love the sounds of this linky Louise! I think I looked at it when I first started blogging but Ernie wasn’t really speaking enough to make it worth taking part, but he is chatting away more and more now so I will keep a note of any of the funny things he says and link up over the next few weeks! Xx

    1. Thanks Rebecca – will be lovely to hear about some of the things Ernie says, will look forward to reading them! 🙂
