From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!
We had our first visit from the tooth fairy last week. Not for one of the girls though, but for one of their dolls. Jessica came home from school and decided that her “best dolly” Kerry had a wobbly tooth. She wrote a lovely note for the tooth fairy from Kerry all by herself.
The note read: “Tooth fairy, go to pick up Kerry’s wobbly tooth and bring a coin and a giraffe.”
She also wrote on the back “I hope you come back when I get bigger.”
I was so impressed by how much her writing has come along in the last few weeks. The request for a giraffe along with the coin made me chuckle. We left Kerry’s tooth under Jessica’s pillow with the note. In the morning, there was a coin and a note from the tooth fairy with a picture of a giraffe.
Jessica was so excited that the tooth fairy had visited Kerry. I wonder how many more visits there will be for her toys until we get our first visit for Jessica?
If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. The linky opens each Monday from 6am and closes on Friday at 11pm so there is plenty of time to link up your posts (old and new posts are welcome!). Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can also link up (the badge code is below). I will also try and share posts via Twitter – please use the hashtag #ftmob and I’ll do my best to retweet them. I also have a Pinterest board and will be sharing posts here too.
Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying!
Awwww, bless her! I love how thoughtful Jessica is, looking after her dollies like that (she definitely takes after her super mummy!). We have the same doll, my girls used to love it! Jessica’s writing is great for reception! Impressed 🙂
Thanks Mel – it’s one of the few baby toys that is still just as loved as it ever was. I was very impressed with her writing too! x
A business mind right there! And you have got to love a giraffe and you have made me wonder how many teeth they have too!
Giraffes have 32 teeth just like us according to Google. I’ve learned something new today, thanks to your comment! 🙂
