Last day of the season at Legoland

It’s been lovely having an annual pass for Legoland this year (thank you hubby – was a great birthday present!) and we’ve enjoyed lots of days out there since May. As last Monday was the last day before it closed for the winter, we thought we’d have one more day out.

The weather wasn’t the best – rainy and cold but we were well prepared with waterproofs and wellies. We started off in Duplo Valley and took a ride on the Duplo train which is a nice ride for both the girls to enjoy.

Sophie also enjoyed being able to get out of the buggy and practice some more walking – she is definitely getting quite confident on her feet now!

As it was during the ‘Brick or Treat’ weekend for Legoland, the puppets were dressed in Halloween outfits.

A visit to Legoland is never complete without going to see the pirate stunt show which is Jessica’s favourite part of the park. This was the point though at which the heavens well and truly opened and so we gave up mid-show and ran to find somewhere dry so we could have lunch instead, ending up in Burger Kitchen. Needless to say, nearly everyone else had similar ideas and it was packed so we had quite a wait before we could get food and sit down – Sophie was very unimpressed about this!

By the time we had eaten some lunch, the rain had eased off again leaving some lovely big puddles for Jessica to go jumping in. We then headed over to the carousel and had a few rides on this. As Jessica wanted to go on the horses, I decided to attempt putting both girls on a horse each and standing in the middle holding them both – midway through the ride though, it became very apparent that slippery waterproofs meant that just trying to keep them from sliding off (even with the safety belts) was quite a challenge. The next time we went on, I headed for one of the carriages instead!

Country Kids 08-Nov-14 (7)We managed to catch a bit of the final pirate show of the season, see Mummy’s friend Claire (who works on the pirate show) and high-five the pirates before it was time to go home.

Despite the rain, we enjoyed our last day of the season at Legoland although Jessica was quite sad that the pirates were ‘going to sleep for the winter’!

  1. I’ve always avoided Legoland as it’s always been cost prohibitive for me. We have been to Thomas Land 3 times but only because he is a fanatic. This year he got majorly into Peppa Pig so we went there in June and that day cost us 300 pounds. Ooooh if I had an annual pass to Legoland I think me and Aaron would both each be like a kid in a toyshop. That was a great present indeed. I absolutely love your photos.

    1. Ouch – that sounds like it was a very expensive day out at Peppa Pig world. Theme parks can be so very expensive. Having the annual pass made it much more worthwhile – was a fabulous birthday present and has been lovely to be able to take the girls so often. Glad you liked the photos 🙂

  2. If I lived near I would definitely have opted for a season pass. There is so much to do there. I’ve only been twice and it was summer holidays with sunshine and hours of queuing. I would think it is much more manageable at this time of year. The pirate show was always the highlight for my children too. Thank you for sharing on Country Kids

    1. I only went a couple of times over the summer as it was so busy – it has been fabulous being able to go so often and not having the pressure to queue for rides as we can always come back. Lovely to link up to #CountryKids again 🙂

  3. Lego Land rocks! We went last year and had a fab time. I only wish that we lived closer 🙂 Looks like you guys had a great time and what a thoughtful gift to have:)

    1. Thank you – it was a fabulous present, we have made the most of it and gone quite a few times! 🙂

    1. Thank you – I think the rain probably bothered me more than the girls – having lovely waterproof all-in-ones means that we didn’t have to let the rain stop their fun! 🙂

  4. Glad you had a great day, we thought about going that day but Ethan really had to go to nursery. It looks like you had lots of fun. Don’t tell anyone but we have booked for Halloween next year already ;0)

    1. We did have a great day, thank you – hopefully you will manage to catch the puppet show or the pirate show another time – can definitely recommend them! 🙂

  5. Legoland is fantastic fun for the kids. We’ve had annual passes there for the past 3 years and we probably go there at least 7 or 8 times during the year. Well worth the investment if you live close enough, and we’ve found that knowing we have annual passes takes the pressure off trying to cram everything in to a single visit.

    1. Thank you Tim – the annual pass has been fabulous and I love the fact it takes the pressure off – we often only go on a couple of rides when we visit as Jessica loves the play area in Duplo Valley – it means she can spend as much time as she wants there without me feeling like I have to get my money’s worth out of the day out there. I will definitely be getting an annual pass again next year! 🙂

  6. Aw, looks lie a lovely tie for all, despite the weather. It’s great to have an annual pass for somewhere. We are going to legoland for the xmas event, can’t wait!
    Thanks for linking #LetKidsbeKids
