It’s been another week of making memories together, enjoying family time and ticking a few more things off the summer activities list.

We had a lovely couple of days away and enjoyed a trip to Alton Towers. It was a fun day out but bittersweet too – last time we were there was 10 years ago with Jessica and being there again brought back a lot of those memories. We talked a lot about her during the day and remembered how much she enjoyed that day out. This is one of my favourite photos of her, taken on the Octonauts rollercoaster ride, which perfectly captured her beautiful smile and joyful personality.

This summer really has been one of magical memories for us, particularly with Sophie’s performances in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It’s been such an amazing experience for her, and for us too being able to watch her playing Jemima. The show really is one of the most joyous things I’ve seen on stage. I feel quite sad that there’s only two more weeks left to go. It was so lovely to be invited to the cast picnic on Sunday where we got to meet some of the adult cast and Sophie was so happy to be reunited with all the other Jeremys and Jemimas again.

What I’ve been grateful for this week:
- Day 233 – I am grateful for a fun day out at Alton Towers.
- Day 234 – I am grateful for fun games that are perfect for taking on trips out and about.
- Day 235 – I am grateful for a lovely evening at the Chitty cast picnic. So lovely to see Sophie reunited with all the other Jemimas and Jeremys again.
- Day 236 – I am grateful for beautiful sunflowers for my beautiful Jessica.
- Day 237 – I am grateful for a day out at Kew Gardens.
- Day 238 – I am grateful for a homemade pizza delivery.
- Day 239 – I am grateful for haircuts.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Finding some more elephants on the ‘Trunks Along the Thames’ trail.

- Bumping into Mother Christmas at Kew Gardens (she was on her holidays).

- Sophie and Thomas having a water fight in the garden.
