Friday Focus 23/09/2022 – Crazy

It’s been another crazy week getting ready for my church’s 50th anniversary weekend this weekend. Another week with a huge to-do list and wishing for more hours in the day, but the necessary jobs are steadily being crossed off the list and I think I’ll manage to get it all done while still managing to get some sleep at least!

The word 'crazy'

This weekend will be a very full weekend with all the anniversary events. I’m looking forward to it – especially once I get to the point that I’ve done all I can and hopefully can relax and enjoy it all. I’ve got my mum coming to stay for the weekend to help look after Sophie and Thomas so I can focus on all the things I’m involved in over the weekend.  I’m particularly looking forward to performing again in Sunday’s concert. Sophie is also taking part in the concert which is lovely. We won’t be on stage together so it will be nice to be able to watch her perform.

What I’ve been grateful for this week:

A Duolingo badge for completing the French course; purple flowers in Jessica's memorial vase; a handbag shaped fairy house in the garden; Sophie and Thomas eating ice-cream at Black Park; my new craft bag; Sophie's school photo; my new slippers - "#365daysofgratitude 2022 - Week 38"

  • Day 259 – I am grateful for Duolingo

  • Day 260 – I am grateful for being surprised with these lovely flowers as a thank you.

  • Day 261 – I am grateful for this beautiful addition to our fairy garden given by a friend in memory of Jessica.

  • Day 262 – I am grateful for a quiet afternoon having a walk around Black Park.

  • Day 263 – I am grateful for a nice new craft bag.

  • Day 264 – I am grateful for a beautiful school photo of Sophie.

  • Day 265 – I am grateful for new slippers.

Other things that have made me smile this week:

  • Moments of sitting and relaxing while knitting Sophie a hat.

  • Listening to Thomas laughing in his sleep.

    1. Thank you – the church anniversary celebrations were lovely although it was quite a hectic weekend!

    1. Thanks Anne, it was a lovely weekend of celebrations although I’m relieved it’s over now!

  3. Hope the event celebrations go as planned. Love that photo of Sophie, a great school photo. I’ve just ordered new slippers. I get through them so fast, and these latest ones aren’t even a year old yet.

  4. Congrats on completing the French course! I finished Italian and have moved onto French but have the awful update to contend with… I need to dig out slippers as well as hats and gloves, getting Colder! #project365

    1. Thank you, yes I’m not looking forward to the new update. Still keeping my French going along with Welsh which I’ve been doing alongside the French for a while now. Well done on finishing the Italian course.

  5. Well done finishing your Duolingo course. I love those new slippers! I have been sent some slippers for my Christmas gift guide and it was a real highlight! Everything comfy for the win on these cold days! What a lovely school photo.

    1. Thank you. Lovely to be sent some slippers. I do love mine especially at this time of year.
