We’ve come back from holiday straight into a week of intense rehearsals for Sophie for The Little Mermaid. She’s been rehearsing 10am – 6pm each day this week and has been throughly enjoying getting into her role understudying Flounder. I’ve been chaperoning at some of the rehearsals this week as well and it’s been nice to see little bits of the show being put together. I’m really looking forward to seeing it on stage next week.
We’ve also had rehearsals this week for The Wizard of Oz. Wednesday was a long day for Sophie with rehearsals for both shows, but she coped well with it.
It’s been quite an intense week overall juggling rehearsals for me and Sophie (thank goodness for Grandma helping with childcare!) while trying to also catch up on the to-do list again after our lovely week away, and enjoy some one-to-one time with Thomas when I’ve not been at Sophie’s rehearsals.
What I’ve been grateful for this week:
- Day 223 – I am grateful for a lovely afternoon exploring Luxembourg city.
- Day 224 – I am grateful for all the adventures and memories made over the last few days and for trains running on time on the journey home.
- Day 225 – I am grateful for freshly picked fruit.
- Day 226 – I am grateful for some planet spotting while at the shops (a few more moons have been discovered since this fact sheet was put together though!)
- Day 227 – I am grateful for an afternoon at Langley Park.
- Day 228 – I am grateful that Thomas wasn’t hurt when he accidentally caused the wardrobe door to come off its hinges. Not quite sure how he did it but so glad it didn’t land on him.
- Day 229 – I am grateful for fun playing with bubbles at the park.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Going swimming and having fun on the waterslides.
- Watching Sophie and Thomas having fun with their cousins at the “pirate park”.
- Lying in the garden watching shooting stars on our last night in Luxembourg.
- Seeing the Moon in the shopping centre.
- Realising that one of the other chaperones used to be a TA in Jessica’s reception class. It was so nice to have a few moments remembering Jessica with her.
Oh wow! It sounds like Sophie has been working hard and how wonderful for you to have a little sneak peek of the show. x
Thank you – it’s amazing how well its come together in such a short time.
Hope the show prep is going well. Goodness, the wardrobe incident could have been nasty 🙁 #project365
Indeed – was such a relief that Thomas wasn’t hurt.
Gosh that is a lot of rehearsing, well done Sophie for working for hard. I am sure you will make a fab Flounder. What a fab display at the shopping centre. So relieved that Thomas was okay with the wardrobe.
Thanks Karen, she was brilliant as Flounder. I was so proud of her.
Well done Grandma picking up on the childcare while you and Sophie were at rehearsals, hope the play went well. Thomas was lucky not to have injured himself with the wardrobe door.
Thank you – it was such a relief he was unhurt.
